Growth rarely feels comfortable while we’re in the middle of it.
There are moments when God invites us into something new, and our first response is to want to stay where things feel familiar and safe. Yet those uncomfortable places can become opportunities to learn, stretch, and grow in ways we never expected.
What if, instead of asking God to make everything comfortable, we asked Him to show us what He wants to grow in us through the discomfort?
That’s a brave prayer. It’s also one that can change us.
Three days can give you a new perspective on your marriage. What happens when you go home and real life starts again?
That’s where continued support matters.
We know couples can leave an Intensive feeling hopeful and equipped, then encounter familiar patterns or unexpected bumps once they're back in everyday life.
That’s why our Marriage 2.0 Intensive doesn’t end when the three days are over.
We continue walking alongside you through an aftercare plan that helps you put what you’ve learned into practice, navigate challenges, and keep moving forward together.
We don’t expect you to figure it all out on your own.

Early in our marriage, I didn’t understand that desire doesn’t always show up the same way for both spouses. Mark would often feel desire first and initiate, while I tended to experience desire after we were already connecting.
That difference created a pattern where Mark carried most of the responsibility for initiating, which meant he also carried the risk of rejection.
Learning that helped us see intimacy differently.
If you tend to experience receptive desire, you don’t have to wait until you already feel desire to move toward your spouse. Sometimes connection comes first, and desire follows.
Initiating intimacy is a shared responsibility. It’s one of the ways we can both communicate, “I want to be close to you.”

Have you ever walked away from an interaction thinking, “What just happened?”
Doing the right thing is not a guarantee that we will get the right response in return. There are many reasons why we might receive a negative reaction from someone despite our efforts. These can include our own heart attitude, the kind of day the other person had, and even the lens through which our actions are being interpreted.
When this happens, we can leave an interaction feeling discouraged, disappointed, ticked off, and wondering if we could have done anything differently. Whether it’s in our marriage, our friendships, or even our work relationships, we’ve all been at a loss for what to do next when somebody doesn’t respond well to us.
In this episode, you’ll hear:
➡️ Some of the causes for a negative response
➡️What our strongest motivation should be for doing the right thing
➡️ Encouragement for when things don’t go the way you expected

We’re excited to share a recent Life 2.0 Foundation update from Uganda. We were able to send Enoch, one of the directors of an orphanage we support in Uganda, to a four-day farming workshop. While he was there, he learned farming techniques that can help support the orphanage and the children in their care.
We’re thankful for the opportunity to be part of what God is doing through the Life 2.0 Foundation, and we’re grateful for everyone who helps make these opportunities possible.
Thank you for praying, giving, and being part of this story with us. ❤️

Have you ever noticed how much harder it can be to quiet the noise within us than the noise around us?
Our minds can keep running long after the day is over, replaying conversations, anticipating what might happen, and carrying concerns we were never meant to carry alone.
Today, let’s bring those thoughts to God. He knows every worry before we even put it into words, and His peace is not dependent on everything around us being calm.
If you’re praying this with me this week, leave a 🤍 in the comments.

Have you ever done something thoughtful for your spouse, quietly hoping they’d respond a certain way?
Maybe you do the chore you know they’ve been putting off, hoping they’ll notice.
Maybe you plan the date night, hoping they’ll be more affectionate.
Maybe you give a gift that comes with a little hope of its own.
The problem isn’t the giving. It’s the expectation attached to it.
We can sometimes use our actions to communicate things we haven’t been willing to say out loud. Our spouse may not even realize there was an expectation attached in the first place.
We learned this lesson early in our marriage through a pair of engraved bowling balls. 😂 Mark had been hoping we would start bowling together, but instead of simply telling me that, he tried to make it happen through a Christmas gift.
Looking back, we can laugh about it. We can also see how easily unspoken expectations can create disappointment and resentment in marriage.
The goal isn’t to stop giving, but to learn how to give freely while also becoming more honest about what we need from our spouse.

Guys, this one’s for you.
Physical intimacy doesn’t begin when you get to the bedroom. It begins with how you show up for your wife throughout the day.
When the laundry needs folded, the dishwasher needs loaded, or the kids need a bath, those aren’t things you’re “helping” your wife with. They’re part of sharing the life you’ve built together.
There’s a big difference between pitching in because you’re hoping it leads to s*x and carrying your share because you love your wife and value your marriage.
When your wife feels supported instead of depleted, it can create more space for connection, affection, and intimacy.
There’s no formula for this. It starts long before the bedroom with two people choosing to show up for each other.

Did you know grandparents who babysit their grandchildren were found to live 37% longer?
As grandparents ourselves, we can’t say we’re surprised! Investing in the lives of our grandchildren has brought us so much joy and purpose. It truly has been one of the greatest gifts of this season of life.
At the same time, becoming a grandparent comes with a whole new set of adjustments.
You may have just gotten comfortable with the empty nest, and now you’re figuring out what it looks like to be Grandma or Grandpa. Your relationship with your adult children changes. You’re spending time with your grandchildren, learning how much help the parents want, and figuring out when to share your thoughts and when to hold back. It can be a whole new family dynamic to navigate.
My guest for this important conversation has navigated all of this personally, and she’s here to share some words of wisdom. Lori Wildenberg is a licensed parent and family educator, author, and national speaker who is passionate about helping families build connections that last a lifetime and beyond. She has written seven family life books, including "Grandparents Make Grand Partners." Lori is the grandma to soon-to-be six grandchildren.
In this episode, you’ll hear:
➡️ The greatest challenges parents and grandparents encounter
➡️ How to discover your unique style of grandparenting
➡️ The most important thing you can do when interacting with your grandchildren
