Sir Knight Richard "Dick" Friendly, Right Eminent Past Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of Kansas in 2004.

Sir Knight Friendly passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 at the wakeeney City Cemetery @ 10:30 AM.

Last night Mt Olivet Commandery #12 conferred the Orders of Red Cross and Malta in Short Form! This was an off week so we had alot of members not present, however it was still a great evening!! Congratulations to Companions Sean Riley, Carlos Ochoa and Casey Flinn for Completing the 1st 2 steps in the Commandery!! We will be Conferring the Order of the Temple in January!! Congratulations and welcome!!

On Friday we Installed the 2026 Officers of Wichita Chapter #33 and Wichita Council #12. We had a wonderful evening full of fun and laughter. We meet at 630pm for light snacks before our quick business of Elections and our Annual Donations to our Charities. Then commenced to installation, then afterwards we retired to Braums for our traditional Ice Cream Social. Congratulations to our Newly Installed Excellent High Preist Companion DonShepherd and Illustrious Master Companion Dan Owens and wish them a successful year!!

Abdul Hannan, PhD, from Columbia University Awarded $90,000 Knights Templar Eye Foundation Grant for Pediatric Glaucoma Research — Knights Templar Eye Foundation Dr. Hannan aims to understand the workings of a particular gene that causes pediatric glaucoma at a deeper genetic level, which will open up new therapeutic avenues.

EyeCare America Expands Access to Sight-Saving Eye Care to People Age 18 and Older — Knights Templar Eye Foundation Generous gift from the Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Inc. allows innovative screening program to serve more Americans in need of eye care.

WEATHER UPDATE: We are still meeting, but with all the rain we have had, the park's grounds are too muddy to use. We are falling back on our rain location at McPherson Lodge 172 located at 311 S Main in McPherson. Everything will continue as planned, with the exception of the games. Great meeting, great guest speaker, pipers, DDGM, custom glassware and pins, and of course, a GREAT Celtic lunch! Also Iron Bru and the annual toast!
