I bought crystals for retailing for over 20 years. I've worked closely with Genie O'Brien. I've also collected personally from her. Today the medievalist in me has been satisfied with stunning lapis thanks to Genie - and some shells for good measure Stones and Shells . Thanks - it has been an absolute pleasure. And I highly recommend them to all who wish to start their own collection.

From Shellmuseum.org

Good Morning! One of the largest gastropods that ever lived, Campanile giganteum is a fossil from the Eocene Epoch, about 45 million-years before present. It lived in the Paris Basin in France, thriving at a time when what is now the City of Lights (and a big chunk of France, by the way) was under sea water. The species belongs in the family Campanilidae and its only living relative is Campanile symbolicum from Australia, a herbivore species known to the locals as the Giant Creeper. The photo, by Ian Glasspool, shows Paul Mayer from the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago holding a 54 cm (about 21 inches) C. giganteum that was on exhibit during the World's Columbian Exposition (1893) in the Windy City.
