An amazing opportunity for Newark residents

The origins of inner city EMS and the incentive to Newark residents to get trained.

Thank you to Bruce Schryver a Vailsburg First Aid Squad member from 1960's who sent us the 1963 Squad photo.

We are incredibly grateful to the members of the EMS Council of New Jersey, who took time out of their busy schedules to come and inspect our ambulance tonight. We are also grateful to all of the squads that donated supplies to help us stock the rig and especially to South Orange Rescue Squad for allowing us to use a bay in thier building for the inspection. By the way, we passed!

The ribbon cutting ceremony for our new ambulance is Tuesday December 10 at 10am. It will be at the 6th Precinct in Vailsburg on Irvington Ave. Parking is in the adjacent Rose Hill Plaza.

The Valisburg Rescue Squad is proud to announce that our first transport ambulance has been provided by a grant from the State of NJ is on the streets of Newark. We are grateful to the City of Newark for its support insuring the ambulance.

The Vailsburg Rescue Squad is looking for a community partner in the West Ward. We need a location to park our new ambulance and an office to sit in while waiting to respond to 911 calls when we are on duty in Vailsburg. If anyone knows a business that has an available parking space and an empty office please let us know. [email protected].

We are incredibly grateful to the squads that have reached out and donated supplies for our new (and first) ambulance. We still need: 5 lb Fire Extinguisher, (2) Head Immobilization Devices, Child Restraint System, Portable Suction Unit, Main Oxygen Tank, Magar Camel and pump, KED, Traction Splint
