Congratulations to Kaliyah Jones and Shaquane Toussaint for being named this week’s Mustangs of the week!

Kaliyah Jones earned a podium finish at the NJCAA National Championships after qualifying with a final time of 54.89. This was a personal best time for Jones and the fastest time in program history. She also qualified for the World Athletics U-20 Outdoor Championships. Jones placed 7th overall at the National Championships with a final time of 56.27 in the 400m and earned the USTFCCCA First-Team All-American honors.

Shaquane Toussaint earned a spot on the podium at the NJCAA National Championships after running a 47.07 in the 400m race and clocking a 20.26 time in the 200m preliminaries to advance to the final event. This was Toussaint’s personal best and the fastest time in program history. Toussaint placed 5th overall in the 200m final with a time of 20.37 seconds and earned USTFCCCA First-Team All-American honors.

With his outstanding performance, Toussaint captures NJCAA All-American honors and continues Monroe Mustangs Track & Field’s tradition of excellence on the national stage.

Cleon Joseph matched tallied a 20.77 mark in the 200m to achieve a personal best and officially qualify for the U20 World Championships.
