My favorite style that I wore throughout my childhood. Jamaicans called this style Chiney bumps and I later learned Bantu or Zulu knots inspired by Southern countries in Africa, like South Africa.

What do you call this style where you are from? Comment below👇🏽

This was the exact moment that I got my self-published (proof of concept) "Zara's Wash Day" book into the hands of the (then) CEO of one of the top five publishers. He was accompanying James Patterson during his fireside chat at the Westport Library.

Two weeks after that encounter I had a meeting with Hachette Book Group and two years after that "Zara's Wash Day" and "Zion's Crown" launched under Running Press Kids.

I honestly had no idea who he was or his affiliation with James Patterson at the time but after two years of marketing my book, I got good as seizing EVERY moment. I was scared, but had finally mastered doing everything while scared.

If you are reading my post, this is your sign to seize the moment and take action now on your dreams.

Thank you Black and Brown Collective (BABCO) for hosting another amazing event to help entrepreneurs and community organizations like the YMCA of Martha's Vineyard and YMCA of Greater Boston amplify their services.

Brian Owens and Chester Felts are leading with purpose and I am honored that I could be apart of this mastermind panel of professionals who are taking their use of technology and entrepreneurial leadership to the next level.

I look forward to more events this year and you have my support for another panel on in 2026! Let’s go!
