This has inspired us and we now need a rapper name for Lily…

I am going to nix Lil Lil unless it gets overwhelming support. Lol.

Marcy and I have spent the last 4 months looking for and visiting local day programs for Lily. The importance of transitioning from public school to a day program weighed heavy on us as this program will define Lily’s transition into adult life.

Although I always try to accentuate the positive, i have to report that our search was frustrating. After seeing conditions at 1 facility a had resigned myself to Lily being at home permanently (poor conditions and safety issues).

Here is where the story turns…since moving here as a single divorcee with adult children I have heard the accolades given to The Angelus. When i first heard of this organization I thought “what a great concept and asset to our community. Maybe there is something I can do to help out”. I shared fb posts from time to time and consistently speak their praises whenever the opportunity arose.

Full circle…Through cooperation and caring Lily is now attending the day program at Angelus House and we could not be happier.

Marcy and I have always shared and supported this organization as we have seen the local benefit to the community.

We have been looking for a place to send Lily during the day beginning in 2024 as she will be aging out of the public school system.

This journey has not been fun…we have visited multiple adult day programs and have found the conditions unacceptable for Lily’s needs, but after visiting The Angelus and speaking with the incredible staff, we have found Lily’s new daytime purpose.

We were amazed at the friendliness and immediate acceptance by the staff and other participants.

Please help us in supporting this incredible organization by attending one of the incredible fundraising events out on each year.
