Today, Da Vinci Recovery and Da Vinci Unleashed were proud to be part of the Stronger Together Walk-a-Thon at Sims Park!

What we loved most about this event was that it didn’t just showcase the incredible resources available to people seeking recovery—it showcased what people in recovery go on to do with their lives.

Recovery is so much more than stopping the use of drugs or alcohol. It’s rebuilding. Learning new skills. Finding purpose. Going back to work. Starting businesses. Helping someone else. Becoming part of a community again.

At Da Vinci, we get to watch those transformations every day. And through Da Vinci Unleashed, our women have opportunities to work with animals, learn grooming and dog handling, build confidence, practice responsibility, and discover abilities they may never have known they had.

Today we saw old friends, met new ones, connected with case managers and community resources, talked to a LOT of people about dogs 😂🐾, and handed out nearly every piece of Da Vinci material we brought!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our colorful little corner of Sims Park and to every organization that showed up today.

People need somewhere safe to land, something meaningful to do, and people who believe their story isn’t finished yet.

That’s community.
That’s recovery.
And we truly are Stronger Together. 💙🐾

Today, Da Vinci Recovery had the privilege of welcoming members of the Hillsborough County Public Defender’s Office for a tour of our home and community.

What they saw was not just a residence. They saw women actively rebuilding their lives.

At Da Vinci, recovery includes meetings, accountability, community connection, healthcare access, transportation support, and learning how to manage life again. It also includes purpose.

Our residents help care for animals, support the daily rhythm of the property, participate in community events, work alongside Da Vinci Unleashed, and take on real responsibilities that help build confidence and independence.

They also saw something we care deeply about: recovery does not look exactly the same for everyone.

Some women use 12-step programs. Some use faith. Some use SMART Recovery. Some use MAT. What matters to us is honesty, responsibility, growth, and whether someone is actively building a healthier life.

We also believe in staying connected to the broader recovery community. If someone needs a higher level of care than we provide, we help connect them to the right place.

The best part of the visit was watching our residents tell their own stories, explain their roles, and show what they are proud of.

That is what Da Vinci is about.

Recovery.
Responsibility.
Community.
Purpose.
Belonging.

And today, our guests got to see all of it in action.

Had the absolute best time celebrating at the Port Richey Waterfront Park! 🎆✨ We wanted to give back to our amazing community, so we set up and did free face painting to bring some extra smiles to the families out enjoying the fireworks. 🎨🦁 Watching the kids (and adults!) light up when they saw their finished faces was the absolute best part of the night. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth—you made our night so special! Happy 4th of July, everyone! 🇺🇸❤️

This is Makasa.

She’s our therapy horse at Da Vinci Recovery, and she recently dislocated her shoulder.

Today, with help from the men of Solis Marine, we built a support sling to give her the best chance to heal.

Dogs have a way of healing things that words can’t.

Today I looked around and saw women in recovery smiling, laughing, and connecting with dogs who don’t care about their past, their mistakes, or their struggles.

They just love them.

That’s part of the mission behind Da Vinci Unleashed. Every groom, every boarding stay, every wagging tail helps create opportunities, purpose, and hope.
