New Port Richey Fire Department

Help us kick off this year's Fire Prevention Week by learning about safe charging of lithium-ion batteries. Throughout the week, we will be providing daily safety messages.

The public is welcome to visit the new Fire Station No.2 or Fire Administration during Fire Prevention Week to receive more information regarding this year’s focus on everyday charging habits that can reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires.

Safe Charging Is a Superpower!

Fire Prevention Week™ is October 4–10, 2026. “Charge Into Fire Safety™. Safe Charging Is a Superpower” focuses on the everyday charging habits that can help reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and keep homes and communities safer. Plug in. Power up. Stay safe.

Great work Mounts!

Congratulations to Firefighter of the Year, McCarthy. Thank you for all you do!

The New Port Richey Fire Department would like to remind everyone of some safety tips to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable Independence Day celebration!
Attend professional fireworks displays instead of lighting your own. Leave it to the experts for maximum safety and spectacular shows!

Keep pets indoors during fireworks displays. The loud noises can cause panic and injury. Create a safe, quiet space with their favorite toys and blankets.

Maintain 500+ feet distance from professional fireworks launch sites. Enjoy the show from designated viewing areas with clear exit routes.

Never attempt to relight duds or malfunctioning fireworks. Report any issues immediately to event staff or emergency personnel.

If using legal consumer fireworks, have water/fire extinguisher ready, designate a sober adult supervisor, and check local fire restrictions first.

During last evening's City Council meeting, our newest firefighter was sworn in. We welcome, Firefighter Mounts to the department!

Thank you Grand Deli and Subs for lunch as a "welcome to the neighborhood" gesture! Very much appreciated
