Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D. Bio

Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D. was selected to serve as Pasco-Hernando State College’s fourth president by PHSC’s District Board of Trustees on July 1, 2015. Dr. Beard began his tenure at PHSC in 2007 as PHSC’s Vice President of Student Development and Enrollment Management. Prior to joining the College, Dr. Beard served as the Dean of Student Affairs at the University of South Alabama, Mobile, and was Director of Student Affairs and Enrollment Manager at Florida A & M University, Tallahassee.

Prior positions include Director of Graduate Students/Enrollment Management Services, Director of Instructional Research Assessment and Special Programs, and Director of Career Services at Florida A & M Florida State -- University of Florida. Previously he also held positions in Counseling, Career and Placement Services at Florida A & M.

A native of Saint Joe, Florida, and an honor graduate of Saint Joe High School, Dr. Beard is passionate about education and determined to inspire others to excel academically. In addition to his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration from Florida State University, the president holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, also from Florida State University.
