You know it’s really hot out when the temperature keeps going up in the rig while both AC’s has been on for about 8 hours. NC summers are no joke
Harvest Host is our preferred overnight stays and we really enjoyed our two night stay at Carroll County Lavender Company in Hillsville, Virgina. We almost cancelled because of concerns about parking the rig, but decided to go anyways and we are glad we did. The owner, Kevin, was great and we bought all sorts of stuff in his farm stand
We were in a nearby town when Deputy Utt was tragically killed while responding to a welfare check with another deputy. Upon arrival, Deputy Utt was shot and killed and his partner was shot in the ballistic vest and thankfully survived. After speaking with several locals, I learned how respected Deputy Utt was in the community he served. A military veteran, Firefighter/EMT, loyal Deputy, father and husband such a tragic killing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Carroll County community, his family, coworkers and everyone effected by this horrific tragedy

Another great Harvest Host. Later tonight we’ll catch some of the movie and grab the kids some drive-in movie food and maybe some ice cream. Tomorrow we continue east then into North Carolina
