โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ“š This year's Sunshine State Young Readers Award books are now available at the Library!

About the program: the Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) Program is a statewide reading motivational program for students in grades 3 through 8. The purpose of the SSYRA Program is to encourage students to read independently for pleasure and to read books that are on, above, and below their reading level in order to improve their reading fluency.

Sunshine State books are selected for their wide appeal, literary value, varied genres, curriculum connections, and/or multicultural representation. The SSYRA committee is comprised of 20 qualified school librarians located throughout the state of Florida, subdivided into two committees- grades 3-5 and grades 6-8.

๐ŸŒŽโœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿš™๐Ÿ“š Our Summer Library Challenge starts today!

Book Your Journey โ€” this year's challenge is all about exploring new places and ideas. Much like books, travel has a way of opening minds, sparking curiosity, and connecting us to places very different from the ones we've always known. Reading lets us experience that same sense of discovery from wherever we are.

Here's how it works:
โ€ข Set a daily reading goal that works for you
โ€ข Earn a badge for every 10 days you reach your goal
โ€ข Go explore โ€” complete fun, travel-inspired activities to collect additional badges
โ€ข Earn incentives throughout the summer, and turn in your badges for a chance to win even BIGGER prizes at the end of the challenge

The challenge runs from June 1st - July 31st and is open to all ages. You can register now at nprlibrary.beanstack.org or by downloading the Beanstack app.
