Happy Hot Summer!!! Here at FarmNet we are ready for summer. How about you? Join us for the ultimate summer growing... Self growth! We challenge you to one or all of our listed agroecological, agrarian, regenerative inspired summer challenges. Forget about thinking outside the box, ...step outside the box! and head straight to the nearest patch of dirt or sand and start transforming it into fertile living soil! We invite you to have fun and share your experiences with us. If you need additional info (like where is Grand Gardens) from us to complete the challenge, we are here to assist! Lets connect.
Here is the list of challenges:
-Have a picnic with a friend at Grand Gardens or other garden within walking distance of your home
-Purchase something at a local store that you would typically purchase from a big box store
-Volunteer for one Water Shepherd irrigation session at Grand Gardens
-Cook one meal with entirely locally purchased ingredients
-Acquire seeds from FarmNet or NPR Public Library Seed Library (or neighbor) and plant according to the 5 S’s
-Have a zero waste Day: Use all reusable, up cycled, biodegradable/compostable utensils etc. for a day. (No plastic/styrofoam)
-Go out to your favorite restaurant and bring your own TOGO container/bag for leftovers.
-Contact FarmNet for a tour of the Fruit Forest garden
I will be challenging my Self to complete challenges with you. To get us started, a visit to a local restaurant.. bring your own ToGo accessories. ...(for me, the challenge here, is sharing my experience)

Welcome to Monarch City NPR! 🦋❤️
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the New Port Richey Monarch Festival this past Saturday. As a Monarch City, we always enjoy celebrating with our community and sharing resources, stories, and activities inspired by these incredible pollinators.
Shout out to the City's Environmental Committee, New Port Richey FarmNet, Florida Suncoast Sierra Club, Rotary Club of New Port Richey, Servpro Team George, and everyone else who helped make this event such a success. We can't wait to do it again next year!
Missed it? Stop by the library to learn more about pollinators, pick up locally-sourced seeds, and visit our native wildflower garden, which was created to support species like the monarch.
🦋 Don't miss the New Port Richey Monarch Festival happening today at the Library until 1pm!
