Trying to figure out what type of grass to choose? Choose both!
Put Bahia in the back because it can take heavier foot traffic and play. Lay the Floratam sod in the front for a more manicured look..
Bahia is less upkeep, but can be more patchy. Floratam requires more effort, but it feels like a carpet. Need more help? We can help you decide!

Hurry! If you have not fertilized your lawn, do it before June 1.
Choose a fertilizer formulated specifically for lawns, with slow-release Nitrogen granules and low Phosphorus content.
As always, do not fertilize if showers are in the forecast for the next day.

The freeze is coming tonight, but at least our beaches aren't covered in snow 😉 Bottom line: it could be worse!
Just make sure to cover your cold-sensitive plants with freeze cloths or bed sheets, if you have not done so already, and avoid using plastic, if possible: it is not breathable!

Here are 5 reasons why now is the perfect time to replace your lawn.
1. Dormant grass travels better from fields to your home
2. Cooler temperatures = less stress on grass
3. Water does not evaporate as quickly
4. Low humidity keeps fungus at bay
5. BEAT THE RUSH and stay ahead of the spring landscaping frenzy.

Did the cold spells in November and December damage some of your plants? A tell-tale sign: the plant looked fine in morning after the frost, but several days later, it became sickly looking.
What to do:
1. 🍂Do not replace it yet (unless you really have to). Wait until spring to see if it comes back and save yourself the headache of establishing a new landscape.
2. DO NOT TRIM the cold-damaged leaves and stems. Embrace the untidy winter look--it's not only natural but functional, as this foliage will keep the rest of the plant warmer during the next cold spell.
🌱If you trim now, the plant might sprout new tender growth, which will make it even more vulnerable to cold temps later in the season.
3. 💦 Make sure to keep the soil reasonably moist. Drought stress is a good way to kill off whatever the cold overlooked.
