Happy almost Spring gardening friends! So with much thought, we have decided not to open our little nursery again this Spring. We have decided we want to focus on our little family in our spare time, and for me personally, I dedicate a full 40(++) hours a week growing and caring for so many unique natives at the USF Botanical Gardens! That being said, come visit the plant shop for some unique native finds. πŸ’— The garden is open Tuesday-Sunday from 9-4.

Come by today until 2 and adopt some natives! (We’re almost, maybe, HOPEFULLY getting into rain season where we can water less)!

And if any of you are looking for *native* plant sales specifically, then hopefully you’ll stop by and say hello to us tomorrow from 9-2! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’š

The radar is currently showing no rain tomorrow, but lots of wind! Hope all of our Pasco friends have happily rain watered gardens after this week (that dry spell was rough)!

I took a LONG drive and picked up SO MANY amazing plants recently πŸ’š Below are a few quick photos of some things in bloom this evening. πŸ₯°

We will be doing some re-organizing over the next week or two, and will have an updated inventory ready for you guys before we resume our plant sale days starting Sunday the 26th from 9-2.
But just an FYI β€” Instead of every Saturday like we did last year, we will be doing the last Sunday of every month, but you may still schedule appointments or pickups on other days. πŸ’š

Be patient with us, as we are only an army of 2 (who also have other full time jobs), and we will continue to bring awesome natives to New Port Richey and grow together! 😊

Photos don’t do this somewhat uncommon butterfly justice. Healthy trees can tolerate mistletoe, leave some if you can πŸ’š

Happy Holidays!

If you see mistletoe this holiday season, as a decoration or outdoors, think of the Great Purple Hairstreak (Atlides halesus).

Mistletoe is the only host plant for this native butterfly, meaning that it is where this species lays its eggs and will be the first thing a new caterpillar eats when it hatches. In Florida, American or oak mistletoe (Phorandendron serotinum) is most commonly found in laurel oaks.
