Not every lab move means leaving town.
Sometimes, growth happens within the same life sciences community, like this move in Beverly, MA.
BioRelo transported cold storage units and their contents from InnoVenture Labs to FireCyte Therapeutics, moving both the equipment and the temperature-sensitive materials inside.
As companies grow beyond incubator space, laboratory relocations can involve much more than getting equipment from Point A to Point B.
BioRelo provides specialized laboratory transportation throughout Massachusetts and across the country.

From Cranbury to Princeton.
New Jersey's life sciences community spans CROs, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical organizations and research institutions across the state.
For Accurant Biotech, BioRelo supported a laboratory relocation from Cranbury to Princeton, transporting chemicals, cold storage equipment and an LN2 cryogenic freezer with contents.
It's one example of how laboratory relocations can connect different communities within New Jersey's growing life sciences network.

One laboratory move. Several different temperature environments.
For the Wilson Lab’s move from the The University of Chicago to Weill Cornell Medicine , the equipment included -80°C ULT freezers with biological samples, ULT freezers that needed to remain powered and at temperature without samples, an LN2 cryogenic storage unit, and a -20°C/4°C laboratory refrigerator.
For an interstate research move, those details shape how the relocation comes together.
Our latest case study looks at the Wilson Lab relocation, the research behind it, and the temperature-controlled equipment and biological materials that made the move unique.

Moving a lab? Here’s the part nobody puts on the moving checklist. 👀
It’s easy to think about the big things:
🧊 Where are the ULT freezers going?
🧬 How are the samples getting there?
🧪 What about the chemicals?
🚚 Can the truck actually get to the loading dock?
But then the questions start piling up…
Will the freezer fit through the elevator?
Is the destination powered and ready?
Do the samples need temporary storage?
Who is coordinating with facilities?
What happens if something needs to stay cold between locations?
For lab managers, operations and facilities teams, planning a lab move means thinking through all of those details before moving day.
We put together a practical guide covering the things worth considering before the first box, freezer, or piece of equipment moves.

“Lab movers near me…” 👀
Yep. We know the search.
And if the next thing you're searching for is how to transport
🧊 -80°C ULT freezers
❄️ LN₂ & cryogenic storage
🧬 Biological samples
🧪 Chemicals
you're definitely in the right place.
We plan the details, coordinate the logistics, monitor temperature, and keep your move moving from pickup to final delivery.
Your lab has enough to worry about. The move shouldn't be one of them.

What does it take to move ULT freezers 1,550 miles across the country?
In this laboratory relocation, BioRelo transported ULT freezers and laboratory refrigerators containing temperature-sensitive biological samples from the
University of Houston to UCLA.
The project didn’t involve moving an entire laboratory. Instead, the focus was on the cold storage equipment and the research materials inside it.
From temperature requirements to long-distance transportation, every part of the journey had to account for what was inside the equipment.

Laboratory moves don’t always involve a long-distance relocation. Sometimes, the move is across the city, between buildings, or even between floors, but the equipment and materials still require careful coordination.
From site assessments and access planning to coordinating with laboratory, EHS, and facilities teams, every part of the relocation was planned around the equipment, contents, facility, and schedule.
BioRelo supports local Philadelphia lab moves, Pennsylvania laboratory relocations, and cross-country moves for medical centers, universities, research laboratories, biotechnology companies, and other life science organizations.
No lab move is too small or too local.

A successful lab move starts long before the truck arrives.
From equipment locations and elevator restrictions to loading paths and temperature-sensitive materials, a site assessment helps identify potential challenges before moving day.
Our latest blog takes a closer look at what happens during a lab relocation site assessment and how advance planning helps protect valuable research.

On September 11, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who stepped forward in moments of unimaginable tragedy.
We honor their memory, the courage of first responders, and the strength of communities that came together in the days that followed.
May we continue to carry their legacy through compassion, unity, and service.
We will never forget.

How do you know if a lab relocation company is prepared for your project?
We put together 10 questions to ask before the move begins.
The lowest quote is not always the lowest risk. Understanding what is included in your relocation plan can make a significant difference when the materials being moved cannot simply be replaced.
