Local students compete in green super-mileage competition A car that gets more than 3,500 miles per gallon? The race is on to beat that record! Local students are competing in the Shell Eco-Marathon next month. Ray Cortopassi talked to two of them about what goes in to designing a fuel-efficient car.
For everyone that was planning on visiting this evening. Our open house has been postponed to next week on Feb. 11th. Same time, just hopefully no snow or bad weather.

We have been busy trying to get to a good stopping point for this semester. Its amazing to see the progress that we have made this year. Its hard to believe that only a few years ago we were in a small room building 1 robot and 1 supermileage car a year. We now have 5 racecars, 3 robots, 1 guitar & 1 team competing in a architectural skyscraper competition in Chicago.

The Battlebot team is redesigning the drive system to the old Spongebot from 2011... once this is proven we also have a new design for the Spring Bot. A 3lb spinning titanium drum should do the trick.

We are getting very close to testing the Formula Car out for the first test of the year. Front spindles should be in next week, then a new body wrap soon after that.

Quick disconnect body pins seem to work well, as well as the body panel fixes.

New look rear-end for Formula car. Great work guys... once we design a new exhaust, we can fire it up.

Our FTC team is working hard to qualify for this years state challenge "Block Party". It is a lot of hard work, but the final bot should be impressive. This is our second year participating in FIRST and the challenge is even harder this year.
