Don’t forget to go out to the Navarre Farmers' Market, LLC/Combs of Honey today!!

We wanted to send a huge shoutout to Pawsome pantry for seeing a need in our community and stepping up to that plate and providing for that need!
This week they helped SSAR out with treats and wet food. Thank you!!

There is no need for animals to be hungry when there are places like the Pawsome pantry and Jojo's Paws that help provide needed food and supplies for animals in need.

Don’t let animals suffer. Reach out and someone can help!

Thank you
Have a great Saturday

Iva is pretty sure she has this napping idea down but would love to nap on her own couch in a home of her own! Iva needs a lap of her own and a family to call hers!

Fully vetted chihuahua (mix?) about 7 yrs old and loves her human.

Sweet Heidi (naming her Lilly since there’s already a pup in the home named Heidi)
Is now in a foster home of her own.
We can’t thank her Foster’s enough for opening their home to her.
As she progresses we will know more about potential adoption or if she’ll stay as a foster/fospice.

If you’d like to help with her ongoing care we sure could use it. She’ll head back to the vet in two weeks.

Hero’s don’t have to wear capes. You can be a hero for this shy but sweetheart of a girl. We will be picking her up Sunday and she will get vetted and groomed. Then will need a foster or adopter.

Sydney is pretty matted so Tubby Tyme Dog Salon & Boarding is gonna do her best work and depending on how stressed Sydney gets she’ll have a spa day.

Sydney is a 7 (ish) year old mini American shepherd (mini Aussie). She is currently in a home with a toddler and older child. She was in a home with cats and dogs of all sizes.

So who wants to be a hero?

Heidi and Gunther are doing okay after the transition. Heidi weighs only 50lbs. Gunther only 46lbs. Please keep in mind these two SHOULD weigh a minimum of 65-80lbs at a healthy weight.
Both had bloodwork done today as well as vaccinations.
Both of these babies deserved better! They aren’t skinny because of lack of appetite. Poor Gunther is unable to see and may need a “halo” collar at some point to protect him from bumping into things.

He does have a double eye infection that he is being treated for in addition to his other ongoing issues.

The best news is they are beyond sweet and even being so hungry they take treats gently. They will use a slow feeder to slow them down on their main meals. They will be fed multiple small meals a day.

We have started them on puppy food for the calories as well as adult food for nutrition. They are both getting joint chews and additional vitamins.
We will need wet food for them (on our Amazon list), since both have bad teeth.

Update on the two huskies and mini American shepherd (Aussie) coming soon!

Photos from Sunshine State Animal Rescue's post 06/07/2026

Update on the dogs from yesterday.
Things in rescue change moment to moment.

I ended up bringing the two worse pups back with me. To an already full home.
Th German shepherd dogs are one male one female. Male has some major eye issues going on which will be addressed tomorrow.
Male is about 8-10 so his lack of weight could be from lack of food or age. We’ll know after a week if he gains weight or not. Very sweet with new people and other dogs. Male is a lack and tan.

Female shepherd. Also older and ultra sweet. Very emaciated as well. Both are used to being in a kennel.
We will evaluate them today and head to the vet tomorrow. Female is more black with tan marking.

The husky’s we can take as soon as we have placement. Both are ultra sweet. Underweight but not extremely bad. Both are matted and need a solid grooming. One male one female. Male is neutered. Female unknown.

And last is the sweet as pie 7 yr old mini American shepherd (aka mini Aussie). She’s actually on the thicker side and definitely needs a grooming. The current foster is going to try to get her groomed. They cannot foster her long term but wanted to help!! We are so grateful for their help!!!

The Husky’s have to stay together. The shepherds and Aussie can be split up.

Okay guys. Yes, we still trying to raise funds for GIGI and her surgery! Those funds will ONLy be used for her surgery!!

But today I’ll be heading to the house where the dogs from yesterday are being held. We have a few foster applications in the works to be approved. That’s HUGE! Thank you. We will know more of what we are dealing with we will let you know!!

We do know the dogs will need extensive vetting. Including this boy I will take today! Depending on what it looks like in person he will go directly to the vet today or tomorrow. This means we need help!! Financial help and foster help!!

Edit…
Aussie is safe!!
3 littles will be going to Forever Saving Angels!

Still need help for the most critical. 2 bonded huskies and two shepherds!

We need the communities help!! Owner passed and no family can take them. Smaller pups are older and of decent weight/condition. Larger pups are neglected and emaciated.

Ssar can only help if we have a place for them to go. Or another rescue able to take some.

This is the hardest part of rescue. When an animal is on life or death situations and we have no way to help without YOUR support.

Larger dogs have been living solely in a garage in kennels with no AC. They can all be separated except for the two huskies.

If you can foster or know of a rescue who can help (I know we are all bursting) please reach out!

I can NOT fit another dog here.

We are not asking for funds at this time as we only need that if we can get them to safety!!
Their safety is a priority!

Not you are able to help by fostering please fill out this form

If you want to adopt please fill out this form

We can not being them into rescue without a foster or adopter application!
