Some jobs you take because it’s what you do. And some jobs you take because the person asking has a heart so pure you can’t tell them no.

This sweet lady has been struggling with her pool for YEARS, spending thousands, hiring folks, trying everything short of calling in FEMA. By the time we got there, that water wasn’t a pool anymore… It was a damn swamp. I’m talking frogs, mystery ripples, and a smell that had its own personality.

Now let’s be clear:
We do NOT clean pools. We don’t offer it, we don’t advertise it, and we don’t plan on adding it to the menu. But this lady holds a special place in our hearts. And the thought of her trying to tackle that slippery mess alone had us picturing her sliding into the deep end like a cartoon character. We weren’t about to let that happen.

So we suited up.

We pulled out frogs the size of baked potatoes. We rescued one squirrel who decided to jump into the deep end with no life jacket, no flotation device, and absolutely no respect for pool safety laws. We cleaned, we scooped, we prayed, and we fought for our lives.

And somehow……. Somehow…….. We brought that swamp back to looking like an actual pool again.

But let’s repeat this for the people in the back: This is NOT a service we offer. This was a one‑time, special‑lady, “we love you too much to let you get hurt” kind of mission.

Big shoutout to Mr. and Mrs. Barnhart of Natchitoches, the undefeated champions of “My House Turns Green Every Year and I Refuse to Let It Win.”

Every spring, like clockwork, their siding goes from “cute Southern home” to “Shrek’s vacation cabin.” And every year, they call us in to lay hands on it and rebuke the mold like it owes back rent.

Yesterday we hit ‘em with a simple house wash, and boom! Back to looking fresh, clean, and like it doesn’t photosynthesize for a living.

We appreciate y’all more than you know. Loyal customers like the Barnhart’s keep small businesses like us rolling, laughing, and pressure/soft‑washing our way through our great Louisiana humidity!

Some jobs feel like work. Some jobs feel like service.And then there are the ones where you’re cleaning up a place that’s basically part of the DNA of Natchitoches.

Rutledge Plumbing moved into their new building about five years ago, and in true Louisiana fashion, the weather, the critters, and the humidity said, “Welcome home, we live here now.”

So Team Xstream rolled up to take care of their two‑story office, their shop, and every inch of those concrete walkways. One whole side of that building was solid green, like it had been baptized in bayou water. The other side had more spider webs than even I could count, and brother, that’s saying something.

But we didn’t stop there.

Because I had a personal debt to settle.

A while back, I made the mistake the grave, spiritually dangerous mistake of sitting in Jan Posey’s chair while she was out. I didn’t know what I was doing. I didn’t understand the power I was playing with. The second I sat down, I felt like I had access to secrets I wasn’t qualified to know. I stood up quick before lightning struck.

So as a humble apology for trespassing on that throne of authority, we went ahead and cleaned Jan Posey’s truck too. It was the least I could do after surviving that experience with my soul intact.

Rutledge Plumbing is a staple. Jan is a legend.
And giving that whole place the shine it deserves felt like taking care of family.

We tackled Front Street last night. We didn’t just clean a sidewalk… We didn’t just wash a storefront… We took on damn near an entire city block facing the river and made it shine like Natchitoches was getting judged in a beauty pageant at sunrise.

Front Street was looking a little tired. A little rained-on. A little “I’ve seen some things.”
So we pulled up with the rigs, the lights, the chemistry, and that Xstream attitude that says, “Yeah… we’re about to fix all this.”

We hit business fronts, walkways, curbs, every inch of concrete that thought it could hide from us.
Spoiler: it couldn’t.

By the time we wrapped up, the whole block was glowing so bright the river looked like it was trying to take selfies with it. Tourists walking by were squinting. Locals were slowing down like, “Hold up… who did THAT?”

And that was just job #1. On our way to job #2! Just another night of turning grime into shine.

If you’ve ever wanted to see what happens when a routine job suddenly becomes legend, let me tell you about the day we rolled up to Julie Perkins’ Cane River empire…..

This wasn’t a house.
This wasn’t even an estate.
This was a geographical event.

We pulled up and the driveway was so long we thought we accidentally got on I‑49. Halfway down we considered checking our oil, saying a prayer, and switching drivers. By the time we reached the house, we had emotionally bonded with the mailbox….

And the house itself?
HUGE.
Beautiful.
Majestic.

The kind of place that makes you stand up straighter because you feel underdressed just looking at it.

Then we saw the roof.

That roof was so tall I had to look up in stages. I swear I think I got altitude sickness. Birds were actually flying BELOW me! I’ve never seen the top side of a bird in flight! I swear at one point I thought I was up there cleaning like I was on a mission from NASA.

But did we stop there?
Absolutely not.

We marched down to the river like we were storming the beaches and cleaned the entire boat dock. Then we looked at the boat like, “You next.” Yep, it shined up so nice it looked like it was about to get recruited into the Coast Guard.

By the time we finished, the whole property was glowing so bright the Cane River fish were putting on sunglasses.

Ms. Julie, thank you for trusting us with your gorgeous home. It was an honor, a workout, and the kind of day that makes you sleep like you got hit with a tranquilizer dart.
