Lotus Living helps women struggling with anxiety, stress, burnout, and emotional overwhelm recover with their bodies and feel like themselves again.

I specialize in somatic therapy and nervous system healing so change isn’t just talked about, it’s felt.

For a long time, I thought healing was a destination.

A place I’d eventually arrive once I had enough insight, enough discipline, enough confidence, enough self-improvement.

But over the years, my understanding of healing has changed.

Less fixing.
More curiosity.
Less perfection.
More participation.
Less asking, “What’s wrong with me?”
More asking, “What’s possible from here?”

Turns out many of the things I thought would heal me were actually attempts to avoid discomfort.

The things that truly helped often required me to move through it.

What did you think would heal you that ultimately didn’t?

I’ve spent a lot of time over the years trying to understand why people do what they do—including myself.

And one thing I keep coming back to is this:
Most of us aren’t struggling because we’re broken.

We’re struggling because we’re using strategies that made sense in a different season of life.

The coping mechanism.
The defense.
The relationship pattern.
The belief.

At some point, it served a purpose.

The question isn’t whether it was helpful then.
The question is whether it’s helpful now.

As I reflect on another trip around the sun, I’m reminded that growth often isn’t about learning something new.

It’s about recognizing what you’re finally ready to outgrow.

What’s one pattern, belief, or habit you’re learning to leave behind?

Mental health language can create awareness.

But awareness alone does not automatically create change.

Healing also requires:
🧠 action
🧠 discomfort
🧠 accountability
🧠 nervous system work
🧠 practicing differently in real life

Insight is the beginning.
Not the finish line.

Therapy isn’t just “learning coping skills.”

A lot of people already know why they struggle.

The harder part is:
🧠 applying insight in real life
🧠 changing nervous system patterns
🧠 tolerating vulnerability
🧠 responding differently when emotionally activated

Information can increase awareness.

But healing usually requires support, practice, safety, and relationship too.

A lot of healing isn’t dramatic.

It’s:
🧠 softer reactions
🧠 safer relationships
🧠 less self-abandonment
🧠 more honesty with yourself
🧠 a nervous system that doesn’t feel constantly under attack

You do not need to become a different person to heal.

You just need enough safety to finally become more fully yourself.

A lot of people think they’re “bad” at meditation because their mind won’t shut off.

But meditation was never supposed to make you instantly peaceful.

For many anxious, overstimulated women, slowing down initially feels uncomfortable because it creates space to finally notice:
⚠️ tension
⚠️ overwhelm
⚠️ emotional exhaustion
⚠️ nervous system activation

That awareness isn’t failure.
It’s information.

You do not need to force yourself into perfect stillness to begin regulating your nervous system.

Sometimes healing starts with:
🧠 one deep breath
🧠 thirty seconds of stillness
🧠 noticing your body without judging it

Start smaller than you think you need.

A lot of “strong” women
are just women who learned they had
to carry things alone.

Strength is beautiful.
But chronic self-reliance born from
survival mode is exhausting.

Sometimes healing looks like finally
allowing yourself to be supported, too.

A lot of women weren’t taught how to cope.
They were taught how to survive.

Push through.
Stay productive.
Take care of everyone else first.
Ignore your own needs.

So now they think anxiety means they’re failing…
when really, their nervous system has been in survival mode for years.

You don’t need to become a different person.
You need support, regulation, and space to just be.

One of the biggest lies high-functioning women tell themselves is:
“But I didn’t even do anything today…”

Meanwhile your brain:
ran 15 imaginary scenarios
remembered everyone’s needs
monitored everyone’s moods
stayed in low-grade survival mode all day

Of course you’re tired.

Mental exhaustion is still exhaustion.
Emotional labor is still labor.
Overstimulation is still stress on the body.

A lot of women don’t need better time management.
They need support, regulation, boundaries, and a nervous system that finally feels safe enough to exhale.

And honestly?
That’s deeper work than another productivity hack.

You’re not ‘bad at coping.’
You’re carrying more than people realize.

The mental load.
The emotional load.
The constant awareness of everyone else’s needs.

And most of it?
Goes completely unseen.

So no… you’re not overreacting.
You’re overloaded.

This is the kind of chronic stress that doesn’t get labeled—
but absolutely impacts your nervous system, your relationships, and your sense of self.

You don’t have to keep holding all of it alone.

I work with women (especially moms) who are done surviving and ready to actually feel better.
