Elite Chess

♟️ Another incredible day of competitive chess is in the books at Elite Chess Center!

A massive shoutout to all the brilliant young minds and seasoned competitors who came out for today’s Elite Sunday Swiss #34. Battling through four intense rounds across our Open, U1200, U800, and U400 sections takes serious mental grit.

Tournaments offer kids so much more than just trophies and ratings—they are an amazing classroom for life. Every move over-the-board builds crucial cognitive skills: deep concentration, resilience under pressure, creative problem-solving, and the discipline of spatial calculation. Watching our players pause, think several steps ahead, and handle both victories and tough losses with absolute grace is truly inspiring.

Huge congratulations to all of today’s prize and trophy winners, and a heartfelt well-done to every single player who pushed their limits today!

Keep sharpening those tactical skills, keep practicing, and we’ll see you at the next one! 🏆

Today was another wonderful reminder of what makes this game so special: chess is the ultimate equalizer. On the board, age and gender don't matter—boys and girls, kids and adults all sit down across from one another to compete on equal ground. Every game started with a simple handshake and a shared respect for the game.

Congratulations to all of today’s trophy and prize winners, and shoutout to everyone who gave it their all on the board! 🏆✨

Huge round of applause to everyone who competed in today’s 4-round Swiss tournament. Seeing so much focus, determination, and great sportsmanship across all three sections—U1200, U800, and U400—was incredible.

Whether you took home a trophy, earned your very first rating, or learned some tough lessons on the board, you should be proud of the effort you put into every single move today.

Keep practicing, keep calculating, and we’ll see you at the next one! 🏆✨

Both honored and humbled to be nominated and recognized as Local Tournament Director of the Year from the United States Chess Federation.

I’m incredibly grateful for our chess community and look forward to organizing many more tournaments that bring players together and continue growing the game we love.

Let's Use Chess To Change The World

We are feeling called to use chess to do more in the community. Therefore, this fall we are forming 5 committees to use chess to serve the following groups:

Elderly/Senior Citizens
Adults With Disabilities
Kids With Disabilities
Veterans
Homeless

These initiatives won't make money, but they will make a difference.
