Forestbrook Elementary

School report cards are out, and Forestbrook Elementary earned a Good Rating! The SC Department of Education issues school report cards, and the results reflect our students' academic achievement and the school’s environment.

A rating of Good: Good indicates that our school’s performance exceeds the criteria to ensure all students meet the Profile of the SC Graduate. A big factor in our rating was our school performance was rated excellent in academic achievement. Great job Panthers!

Stephanie Burgess from Santee Cooper and parent of one of our Panthers joined us today as Principal for a Day! We hope you enjoyed your day!

October is a great time to celebrate the people who lead our schools, and we are especially thankful for our Principal, Mr. Marshal Hursey!

Mr. Hursey gives so much of himself to Forestbrook Elementary. Whether he’s greeting students in the morning, checking in with teachers, helping a family, jumping in wherever he’s needed, or simply making his way through the building to see how things are going, he is always there.

We appreciate the way he cares about our students, supports our staff, and works every day to make Forestbrook a place where kids and adults can grow.

Thank you, Mr. Hursey, for all you do. We are proud to have you leading our Forestbrook Panthers! 🐾

We want to introduce Mr. Roger Gray to our FES family. Mr. Gray will be serving as an assistant principal for a few months in the place of Mrs. Hucks who is preparing for the arrival of her new baby. Mr. Gray has many years experience as a principal in Horry County Schools. I know Mr. Gray will love his time working at FES!

Ms. Beda has been with us a few weeks now, but we want to welcome her to the FES community and our 5th grade team!

My name is Ashley Breda, and I am excited to join Forestbrook Elementary! This year marks my 15th year in education. Over my career, I’ve taught everything from Pre-K to 8th grade, with a special passion for math and science. While I am originally from New York, I have proudly called South Carolina since 2006. In my spare time, I enjoy crafting, cooking, music, outdoor adventures, and sports (Go Giants and Yankees!). When I am not creating the ultimate learning environment in my classroom, "Breda’ville," you can usually find me helping with my family's catering business or enjoying the beach with loved ones. I look forward to a fantastic school year—Go Panthers!

Socastee High School is celebrating Homecoming next week, and their cluster schools will join in on the fun!
Our students and staff will be participating in Socastee's dress-up week schedule as we show our school spirit and support our high school!
We also hope to see many of our Forestbrook families at the Homecoming game next Friday night, September 25th!
Let's come together and show our support for the Socastee High School Braves!

Today Mrs. Bellamy’s little mathematicians traded in their classroom for a fancy restaurant and put their counting skills to work! Each student received a preset menu, placed their order with a waiter, and watched as their order was “sent to the kitchen” and fulfilled. 👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳

Our goal? One-to-one correspondence + counting objects up to 20! 🔢❤️

And of course, Chef Luigi (aka Mrs. Bellamy 👨‍🍳😂) was in the kitchen making sure every order was just right!

We had an incredible turnout at Literacy Under the Lights at Socastee High School! Our Panthers showed up ready to celebrate the joy of reading, and it was wonderful to see so many of our students and families enjoying the evening together.

This special event is part of Horry County Schools’ Rise with Reading initiative, which is all about building a love of literacy and helping our students grow as confident, lifelong readers. Tonight was a reminder that reading truly brings us together!

A huge THANK YOU to our Forestbrook families for supporting literacy and making this event such a success. We are so proud of our Panthers and grateful to be part of a community that values reading and learning!
