James Attendance area for Horry County Schools of South Carolina: St. James Elementary, Seaside Elementary, Burgess Elementary, St. The purpose of the HCS / St. James Community page is to share information about Horry County Schools. Do you have American Flags that need to be retired? Well, you are in luck, Cadet Sean Bowker has completed his Eagle Scout project and his flag retirement drop-off box is now fully operational. It sits in the foyer of the school and our JROTC program will help monitor it for the future. So bring your frayed, ripped, color-faded flags to school so they can be retired properly. We will be holding a Flag Retirement Ceremony in 2nd Semester.

St James Athletics is proudly announcing the return of Youth Night at the Shark Stadium this Friday, September 15th! All students from St. James Elementary, Seaside Elementary, Burgess Elementary, and St. James Intermediate may attend for free. Students must be with an adult/parent at all times. Students, at 7:15 pm, please meet at the Flagpole inside Shark Stadium to run out with the Sharks!

HCS Weather Announcement
On Friday, September 30, 2022, all Horry County Schools (HCS) facilities will be closed due to the forecast for inclement weather related to Hurricane Ian. However, HCS will operate on Friday with an eLearning day for all students. School staff members will provide directions for students regarding Friday’s eLearning day. Additionally, all after-school activities for Thursday, September 29, 2022, and Friday, September 30, 2022, are cancelled.
All HCS employees will work remotely with the exception of non-instructional staff such as, but not limited to, nutrition services staff, bus drivers, maintenance technicians, and building services staff. These employees will not report to work but will be allowed to make up the day based upon schedules provided by their supervisors. Employees with questions regarding their work schedules should contact their respective supervisors.

Gates will open at 7:15pm. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs to watch Encanto.
