Native Sons Salt Games

We are disappointed to announce that due to the continuing threat and projected path of Hurricane Florence, the 2018 Native Sons Salt Games has been CANCELLED. The City of Myrtle Beach announced yesterday that we are under a state of emergency and cancelled all City special events scheduled for the upcoming weekend.

Although we were anticipating the best Salt Games ever and are saddened by the cancellation, it is obvious that this is a dangerous storm and everyone’s safety is the top priority. We would like to thank the hundreds of competitors, sponsors and vendors for their planned participation and support of the Salt Games. We do not have a backup date scheduled for this year’s event as all available dates for the venue conflicted with our schedule and coordinators. We will be announcing plans for 2019 soon!

All paid registrants and vendors will receive a full refund within ten days. Please email [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

Again, we thank everyone for their support, understanding, and cooperation!

Important Weather Announcement:

We are optimistic that the Native Sons Salt Games will take place as scheduled next weekend but are also watching the path and potential impact of Hurricane Florence on the event. We will be meeting with Myrtle Beach City Officials and the MB public safety departments early next week for their guidance. We will be watching the storm reports this weekend and will take into consideration all of the athletes that will be traveling from out of town who have made travel plans. Even though we still have an awesome event planned public safety will be the deciding factor. We appreciate your patience as the final determination will be made by the middle of next week. folks!
