Today, Cristine had to say goodbye to her long time furbaby, Otis. It was an act of love to ease his pain.

Starting Over Animal Rescue

On Wednesday, the Senate held its first congressional hearing on menopause!
Clinicians from all over the country gathered to discuss the discrepancies in funding for medical research in men vs women. These experts shared their research supporting the benefits of hormone therapy in menopausal women, but also shed light on the desperate need for more research on women's health in general.
We've had a nationwide shortage on estradiol patches, but they are now working on increasing production to meet demand!
Yesterday, the FDA held an all-day event where medical professionals petitioned for an FDA-approved testosterone product specifically for women. This is HUGE progress for our field. We are forced to rely on compounded testosterone products that are costly, while men have MULTIPLE options to choose from that insurance covers.
Testosterone also remains a controlled substance (scheduled drug), meaning there are restrictions on prescribing and dispensing. This also is an unnecessary barrier that limits treatment options for women.
We continue to fight for our patients every day.

🌟 We have big news!
Options Wellness is proud to share that our very own Amy Beth Hall is now a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner!
There are less than ten providers in the state of Alabama that hold this certification, and Amy Beth is first MSCP in the Shoals area!

Options Wellness will be closed on Monday, September 7 for the holiday.
We thank all the hard workers out there and hope you get a well-deserved break.
We will be back on Tuesday, September 8 for normal business hours, Monday-Thursday, 8 AM to 5 PM, closed from 12-1 for lunch.
