To the residents of Muscatine,

I want to directly address the recent misinformation being shared on MUSCATINE COMMUNITY CHAT by Tom and Linda. The claim that I have canceled the Fourth of July Parade because the community “didn’t earn it” is completely false. I would like to thank Jason Griffey on making a post on Muscatine Community Chat 2.0 stating this was false as well.

There is no way on God’s green earth that I would ever cancel our community’s Fourth of July celebration. As long as I am Mayor, there will always be a Fourth of July celebration in Muscatine! A day to proudly celebrate the red, white, and blue, our nation’s independence, and the spirit of our community.

The City of Muscatine, Iowa - City Government and the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce & Industry are working together to put on an amazing celebration with events all day long. We look forward to families, kids, and neighbors enjoying the parade, fireworks, and festivities together.

I encourage everyone to disregard these false rumors and get ready rock n’ roll on the Fourth of July in Muscatine!
