A big thank you to the Lake County Extension Master Gardeners for providing Gloria, a Master Gardener for our Successful Vegetable Gardening program on Tuesday. We learned so much about how to prepare the soil, when to start planting, the importance of soil temperature, planting locations, and so much more!

You are invited to submit a piece of fiction or a poem inspired by the Summer Library Club theme, "Plant a Seed," for a chance to be published in our online anthology, FLIPD. Prizes for first, second, and third place winners will be awarded. Deadline to submit a piece is July 15, 2026.

No more than 2,500 words or 30 lines of poetry.

Summer Library Club Kick Off was a blast! Thank you to all who came out and made this a day that we will never forget. We had a great crowd for Cuéntame un Cuento on Saturday! Make sure to check out all of the different story time options we have this summer, including Storytime in the Park. Our first Storytime in the Park is on Friday, June 26 at 10:00am at Kracklauer Park.

The weather is looking to be perfect this coming Sunday, May 31 for our Summer Library Club Kick Off event! Join us from 2:00pm - 4:00pm for a celebration of summer reading. We have a petting zoo and Kiki's Cotton Candy (for purchase) outside. Inside you can take a tour behind the scenes of circulation, participate in a scavenger hunt, take a picture with Judy Hopps, navigate your way through our Jungle Room, and so much more. Due to the popularity of last year's event, we have partnered with Mechanics Grove Elementary to provide additional parking. We hope to see you on Sunday!
