Today at Central Michigan we commissioned 2 new 2LTs. Our national OML standing included 3 distinguished military graduates to include CDT Louis Henika (CMU). Congratulations and godspeed to 2LT Henika (MIARNG Military Police) and 2LT Brennan Archbold (MIARNG Field Artillery). We are very proud of them and their accomplishments; I cannot help but be optimistic and focused on our future.
Special thank you to the distinguished guest that attended today; CMU President Mackinnon, Provost Lancaster, Dean Routhas, BG (ret) Kalhavie and MG (ret) Werner.

Yesterday at the Amvets Post 1941 in Big Rapids, MI we conducted our end of the year recognition and farewells. Various veterans organizations recognized Chippewa CDTs for their outstanding academic and leadership achievements throughout the year. We also bid farewell to MSG Jason Hickman and his family as he PCS to Ft Benning, GA. And MAJ Nick Andrychowski as he is set to retire after completing over 22 years of service.
Thank you for choosing to serve and thank you for being an incredible member to this organization.

For our last training events of the year the Chippewa Battalion completed our Culmination Training Event at White Pine Valley in Big Rapids on 25APR preparing our MS3 CDTs for their summer training assessment. This morning we also completed our final sporting event of Flagg football at FSU Top Taggart Field. Congratulations to the CMU senior team “Coaching Tree” lead by MAJ Andrychowski in his last sporting event with the Battalion and SGT Underhill.

Join us in congratulating CDT Valenzuela on contracting with the Chippewa Battalion. He heads off to Basic Training this summer as he also joins the Michigan Army National Guard. Best of luck to him and his journey to become an Army Officer.

Last night the Chippewa Battalion had a big night. We celebrated the year at our 74th annual military ball. We inducted two new members into our hall of fame. And we said farewell to our beloved PMS. Thank you to everyone who made this night possible and to all of our family and friends who joined us.

Our CDTs continue strong this week with AFT. Congratulations to CDT Alfaro who achieved our programs first max 500 AFT score. Also congratulations to CDT Fowler who contracted this week and will be preparing to attend air assault course this summer.
