Just finished up this custom platter for a wall hanging for a wonderful couple remodeling their house. Always fun to work on custom pieces!

Certain pieces look very different with light behind them! This one is going to be fun to play with!

I had a great time this past weekend at the ! This is the year I’m trying out some new-to-me markets and not just ones at Christmas time! Do you have a favorite art market (even if it’s out of the Charleston area)? If so, comment below so I can check it out!

To say I get excited about this every year is an understatement. Since the first event ten years ago, I have had the privilege of designing and making the finishers’ necklaces for Triathlon here in Mount Pleasant. This isn’t just about sport-it’s a celebration of women, and women empowering and cheering on each other, which we need a lot more of in this world! If you’re thinking about doing it-do it-you won’t regret it! Or, if you want to just be there to celebrate with everyone and soak in the good vibes, volunteer! (It’s super fun) And you’ll all love what I’m designing this year 😉And for the tenth I’ll be doing double duty-set up to sell at the event and there to race! 🩷

A little of “What I make”. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll remember that I usually participate in “March Meet the Maker” but this March is crazier than usual, so I’m catching up where I can! The good news is that I’ve been up to some fun new things in the studio. Stay tuned for more, but in the meantime catch up with glimpses of daily studio life in my stories!

A little behind the scenes peek into something that went into the kiln yesterday. This will spend about 10+ hours in the kiln, firing to about 1500° and it will feel like forever until it’s cooled enough to open the kiln. I’m not very patient about seeing the results, but it’s necessary—open the kiln too soon and I’ll risk cracking pieces that I’ve spent a lot of time on!

It’s time for March Meet the Maker again! I love to participate each year to delve a little deeper into my life and work. Starting out with a little bit about me 🙂
