The Air Force First Sergeant Academy proudly welcomed Class 26-E as they began their journey toward becoming the next generation of First Sergeants.
Arriving on the heels of a busy and successful month for the the Academy, Class 26-E stepped into an environment built on excellence, professionalism, and a commitment to serving Airmen and Guardians. While every class follows the same curriculum, every class leaves with its own identity, and Class 26-E's story begins now.
During the first week, candidates began building the foundation of what it means to serve as a First Sergeant while also setting the standard for personal readiness. Congratulations to Liberty Flight, who earned the title Fit Flight by achieving the highest average score on the Air Force Physical Fitness Test. Their accomplishment reflects discipline, commitment, and example-setting expected of future First Sergeants.
Over the next four weeks, these candidates will be challenged to grow as leaders, communicators, mentors, and trusted advisors. They will build relationships, sharpen their decision-making skills, and gain the tools necessary to care for Airmen and families during both their best and most difficult moments.
The diamond is more than a symbol. It represents service, sacrifice, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to people. Class 26-E now begins the process of preparing to wear the symbol and all the responsibility that comes with it.
To the families, friends, and teammates supporting these candidates from afar, we want to thank you. Your encouragement and support are vital to their success.
Welcome to the Academy, Class 26-E!

May was busy and rewarding for the First Sergeant Academy team, marked by growth, innovation, and continued commitment to developing the next generations of First Sergeants. Rarely, does anyone get to see the time and effort it takes to prepare, execute, and keep up with all other requirements while taking care of our own personal lives during a class.
During the month of May, the FSA team proudly graduated Class 26-D, celebrating the accomplishments of another group of leaders prepared to serve Airmen and commanders across the force. At the same time, the team successfully delivered the Intermediate First Sergeant and Off-Boarding courses, extending professional development opportunities to seasoned First Sergeants and ensuring they are equipped throughout every stage of their career. Not to mention MSgt Christopher Dewitt receiving recognition from the Chief Master Sergeant of the Space Force for his efforts in creating the Intermediate Course.
In addition to supporting resident education, members of the FSA team attended a 40-hour Military Sherpa Course, investing in our own development to better serve students, units, and the First Sergeant Community.
The month concluded with a staff retreat focused on team building, reflection, and preparing for the future. Recharged and refocused, the team immediately shifted gears to welcome and begin training Class 26-E.
Behind every successful class is a dedicated team of professionals committed to excellence. Thank you to the instructors, support staff, and leadership who continue to make the First Sergeant Academy a world-class institution.
One team. One mission. Developing First Sergeants for the betterment of every unit and command team, while developing each other!

Her positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to jump in and help wherever needed have not gone unnoticed. We are fortunate to have her on our team!

Wingman check!
First Sergeants…how are you doing? We’re not looking for that canned, “I’m good” statement.
🗣️How. Are. YOU. Doing?
Stateside, Deployed, TDY, At home, In the office…In the fight.
How’s your mental health? How’s your physical health? How’s your emotional health? How’s that family holding up?
Are you thriving…or just surviving?
Today, we challenge every First Sergeant to check in on a fellow Diamond. Call them. Text them. Stop by their offices.
Listen longer than usual. Create space for honesty. Support one another the same way we challenge our personnel to support others.
And don’t let this challenge stop with our 8F special duty. Check on all your people. Be intentional. Get out of that office more this month and make your way around the organization.
Let’s continue raising our standard as leaders and as human beings. And let’s continue to hold the line together. Hoooah?!!

Behind every graduate who walks across that stage…behind every leader who leaves the FSA better than they arrived, is a team that refuses to be average.
This team does more than teach curriculum. They shape mindsets, uphold standards, and develop leaders who will go on to influence thousands more.
Different personalities. Different leadership styles. One standard…Excellence.
Proud of this team. Grateful for this mission!
