Offering 💙 Hope 💙 Healing 💙 Community💙 to families who have lost a child, regardless of the child’s age. In 2016 we lost our son Christopher.
As expected, it turned our world upside down. After years of muddling through our grief and learning how to let great grief and great joy reside in the same space we felt God calling us to establish First Touch Family. Our prayer is that we would be able to support families as they navigate their own loss and that we would bring hope and healing to their journey. A journey that only someone who ha

All over the world, friends and strangers alike have joined us in War Rooms and continue to stand with us in prayer over both spoken and unspoken needs in our lives and the lives of those we love. Today, I simply want to say thank you for your faithfulness in prayer.
We have had the sacred honor of watching the Lord move mountains, release chains, remove stumbling blocks, and soften hearts through the prayers of His people.
When you lose a child, you quickly realize just how little control you truly have over the world around you. But you also come to understand how sovereign the Lord is and how much greater His plans are, even in the valley. There is a surrender that comes when we loosen our grip and choose instead to petition the Lord in prayer, trusting Him to move “on earth as it is in Heaven.”
Thank you for carrying us, covering us, believing with us, and reminding us that we were never meant to walk these roads alone. Your prayers have mattered more than words could ever express. 🤍

We frequently encounter families that have experienced church trauma after the loss of their children, myself included. I don’t believe it was intentional, I just believe most churches/people do not know how to handle the situation unless they have lost a child and/or they are not trauma informed.
I recently had the privilege of attending a small group session with these two brilliant authors and at the 2026 recently.
This book is not just about trauma caused by the church on congregants but also trauma inflicted on leadership in the church by its congregants.
Dr Scot McKnight’s prospective on Paul’s relationship with the Corinthians makes you think and Dr. Gibson does an incredible job of explaining how trauma affects our brain and lives.
Highly recommend!
Much love,
Chrissy
