Purple and Green 💜💚 really stand out on this front entry, welcoming the home owners and guests here in LaVerne! Orange, yellow, and green 🧡💛💚 greet travelers along the 'Green Belt' walkway between homes. 🖤🩶🤍Topped with black wood mulch really makes the plants color, shape, and texture pop and compliments the grey, charcoal, and white of the home itself. Clients are extremely happy with the tuned up landscape since the old plantings had grown old and were also disturbed by some construction earlier this year. 🤠 Another fun, colorful, low-maintenance landscape in the books this year! FOR SALE!!! From my personal landscape. A very nice, mature specimen. Will require removal and transportation. I'd rather not sell, but the tree is growing into the eaves of our home, and trimming it or relocating it in our yard is not an option for us. It measures roughly 10' tall, 5.5' across the canopy and 3' at the base. It is a very healthy plant, just now forming inflorescence. 'Quiver Tree'
"Quiver tree develops amazing trunk, branched crown of blue-grey leaves. Yellow flower clusters.

Aloe dichotoma responds very poorly to heavy soils and should not be planted in anything except sandy or rocky, well drained soil. Clay is a hard no for this plant.
In pots plant in half cactus, mix half pumice or lava rock and be sure the plant doesn’t stop the bottom hole.
Leaves shed cleanly once dry, leaving a trunk that is initially glossy and smooth. Later, the characteristic vertical scales develop.
Pruning Aloe dichotoma will expose the p***y inner structure, and wounds are slow to heal.

She was such a sweet and caring lady. Cactus & Succulents brought me into her life for a few years, I performed plant maintenance at her home pictured here on Roxbury in Beverly Hills. We did installations and designing as well. Jared was just a little boy at the time, I took him to work with me during the summer, and he got to meet her, and he played with her young adopted son Duke when he was around. She was so proud of the restoration on her home and the landscaping that we had the pleasure of contributing to, she had vintage Terra Cotta pottery and 'Sleeping Mexican' statues surrounding a fountain shaded my mature Pepper Trees and Blue Agave. She told Danielle and I a story one time as we walked through her home. She was trying to purchase a vintage clock or sign at an auction. She says, "You'll never guess who outbid me!" Ralph Lauren," she says, laughing and smiling. 🤣 Jokingly, I look at Danielle and reply, "Oh Ralphy!!! As if we knew him. 🤭 That just goes to show how friendly and easygoing she could be. She eventually sold that home to Ryan Murphy and husband David Miller. We continued maintenance for them for a few years. I missed working for Diane then and will definitely miss her more now. My condolences to her family, friends, and fans.

Huge Clean Out from last year! 💪🏾🤠 Silverlake, Los Angeles up in the hills above Sunset. Heavy thick weeds plus very mature, decades old Agave americana growth all needed to be cut, removed, and stumps dug out. The largest Agave measured 12' across! This was a ton of work made extra difficult being situated on a very steep slope. Thankfully, I never slipped and fell all the way down, but it definitely put my boots to the test, I needed a new pair because the metal shank busted through the soles. Agave removal was made a bit easier using the Truper Truper Máquinas Agave Coa! This tool is amazingly sharp, sturdy, and well balanced for maximum force to slice through these mature Agave stands. I wish I'd bought one of these years ago!

What a fun morning with these ladies! I was asked to do a presentation for L.A. County Arboretum Garden Club District Meeting. I brought a large heart-shaped Terra Cotta pot, a variety of Succulent plants that I've propagated and grown in my plant nursery. I talked about landscaping, design, and plant selection as I created the Succulent Container Garden, answering questions as I went along. This meeting consisted of presidents of several local garden clubs. They were very impressed and entertained with my presentation.
