NVC helps brain injuries, learning challenges, and binocular vision deficits through vision therapy!

Imagine your brain is a super-smart camera 📸 that can take a picture of things you see—and even remember the exact order they appear in!

That’s visual sequential memory: the ability to recall a series of letters, numbers, symbols, or objects in the correct sequence, just like they were shown.

So if you see something like:
⭐ 🔺 🍎 🚗
your brain should be able to remember it in that exact order—not mixed up!

When this skill is tricky, a person might:

lose track of the order of letters or numbers

need to re-read sentences again and again

feel like reading takes extra effort 😅

This can make reading slower and understanding harder because the “mental picture” keeps fading or getting jumbled.

Summary of this case review:
A patient presented with constant double vision, a constant eye turn, and significant visual field loss. Based on the clinical findings, I referred her to ophthalmology, where she underwent prompt surgical intervention. Following treatment, her eye turn resolved, her double vision resolved, and her visual field loss improved significantly.
Key takeaways:
1. Remember why you initially came in, what your clinical findings were, and how you’re doing after treatment.
2. Follow-up reports and letters from outside providers are extremely helpful for us as optometrists, especially when managing binocular vision and brain injury patients.
3. Please be mindful of what my staff and I can and cannot control throughout the process.
4. Your insurance carrier and specific plan play a significant role in determining your vision and glasses benefits.
Thank you for listening to my long rant!

✨ Form Constancy Superpower! ✨

Form constancy is your brain’s amazing ability to recognize things even when they try to trick you by changing size, shape, or direction!

So whether a letter is big, tiny, tilted, on a screen, on paper, or written on the board—you still know it’s the same letter. 🎯

When this skill is strong, reading feels smooth and easy because your brain says, “I know you—you’re still a B, even if you’re upside down or fancy-looking!”

But when it’s tricky, letters and numbers can feel like little shape-shifters 🌀—mixing up order, flipping around, or looking “new” every time you see them. That can make reading feel slow, like rereading a mystery clue over and over!

💡 In short:
Form constancy helps your brain be a shape detective—recognizing the same objects no matter how they change their disguise!

New Stellest lenses are designed to help manage myopia (nearsightedness) in children by slowing the progression of their prescription! 👓
Why is this important? As myopia continues to increase year after year, the risk of eye health complications later in life can also increase. Slowing progression helps protect the overall health of the eyes and may reduce the risk of damage to the retina and other structures in the back of the eye.
Early intervention can make a big difference in your child’s long-term visual health ✨
