I have one less dead tree. It was a nice tree when it was alive, it provided lots of shade and was home for lots of birds and squirrels.

This Tuesday Public Art piece is by a playground and is one of my favorites. I have no idea what is is, but it is lovable. In Clayton, MO's Shaw Park.

Looks fun with meaning.
Artist Jeffey Gibson's 2022 video "To Feel Myself Beloved on the Earth" explores themes of community and resilience rooted in a relationship to the land. His work is one of five contemporary video and film works in our upcoming exhibition, "On Earth."

A new glass sculpture in Clayton, MO's Shaw Park for this Public Art Tuesday.
I might revisit the plaza again in the spring when the fountain is on. The sculpture still makes the plaza nice; even in winter ❄️.

Where has all the empathy gone!?
Yesterday, I was at the studio and someone there said he didn’t see the point of clearing the sidewalks of snow. Because it was just going to melt anyway.
I almost said the same could be said of the streets, we’d save a lot in overtime for city workers; I had just walked to building and almost slipped a couple of times, because the studio’s management didn’t anything but the parking lot and a narrow path to the door. I had parked in parking lot farther away and had come down an unplowed sidewalk, full of icy ,ankle breaking foot impressions.
Instead I appealed to his sense of empathy and said, ‘what about my neighbors who have to take bus everywhere’. He replied, ‘that’s too bad but it will melt some or later anyways’. At that point I saw any further argument was wasted breath.

I'm such a greedy father.
I was sad when my son started to walk/run, he didn't need me to carry him anymore.
I was sad when he didn't take my hand as we walked outside. I wasn't his best friend anymore.
It was heartbreaking when he told me to turn back before we got to school, it was embarrassing to be seen with me.
As he grows more independent, I am sure I will be saddened again and a little lonely when I look, or listen for him.
I'll only hear echos of the past.

This Tuesday Public Art more airports and mountains. We can only be inspired by Ma Nature, we can never out do her
I spent 8 hrs Saturday standing, looking up Big Bear MTN, into the sun trying to find my son; as he snowboarded down. Only to have him come up behind me and I had missed the whole thing each time.
He had a great time and I got to be a Rad Dad. 8)
