β˜€οΈ Lennon called it "a piece of garbage" β€” and then the three of them sang it so beautifully nobody believed him.Sun King began life under the working title Here Comes The Sun-King β€” later shortened to avoid confusion with George Harrison's Here Comes The Sun, both on the same album. The Beatles began recording it on July 24, 1969, taping 35 takes of the basic track β€” with take seven accidentally becoming a version of Ain't She Sweet, later released on Anthology 3. 🎸The Beatles - Sun King 🎢 ❀️ Listen now in the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭! πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

πŸͺ˜ "Within You Without You" – The Beatles (1967)
No John. No Paul. No Ringo. Just George Harrison, a harmonium, a room full of Indian classical musicians, and eight violins arranged by George Martin. 🎻 Written after a dinner party, inspired by Ravi Shankar, and built around the ancient concept of Maya β€” the world as illusion. On Sgt. Pepper's. In 1967. 🀯
One Beatle. One vision. Timeless. 🀍

🎸 "Till There Was You" – The Beatles (1963)
A Broadway show tune from 1957, brought to life by Paul McCartney's warmest vocals and George Harrison's delicate classical guitar. 🎢 They played it at the Royal Variety Performance β€” just before John told the rich seats to "rattle your jewelry." πŸ˜„ Then again on Ed Sullivan for 73 million Americans. Not bad for a show tune. 🀍
Four lads from Liverpool made Broadway sound like home. ✨

🎹 Written for a 16-year-old pop star β€” rejected β€” and then became the first Beatles song ever covered by another artist.Misery was originally written for Helen Shapiro β€” the most popular pop singer in Britain at the time β€” while The Beatles were her support act on tour in early 1963. Her management turned it down. So Lennon and McCartney offered it to fellow tour performer Kenny Lynch β€” who released it as a single, making him the very first artist in history to record a Lennon-McCartney original. Lynch later turned up on the Band on the Run album cover. That's one heck of a footnote. πŸ˜„ The Beatles - Misery 🎢 ❀️ Listen now in the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭! πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

πŸ₯ The song that started with Lennon in 1959 β€” and ended with Ringo getting his first writing credit.
What Goes On from Rubber Soul (1965) has one of the most quietly human backstories in Beatles history. John Lennon wrote the song in early 1959 β€” years before the band was famous β€” and it sat untouched until 1965, when it was revived specifically to give Ringo a vocal moment. 🎸The Beatles - What Goes On 🎢 ❀️ Listen now in the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭! πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
