The Simple Project

It was a hot day, but a good one at The Simple Project on Saturday. Around 70 people were served lunch, and reminded of their worth in the eyes of our Heavenly Father…such a powerful reminder! Thank you to First West 513 Life Group for serving at The Simple Project.

Yesterday morning I wrote about our situation about our roof . I’ve had a few calls about this and asked if we were closed or shut down and the answer is NO. They have only shut down the roofing of our tiny house here at The Simple Project. We have never shut down but one day in over 18 years and that was the day the ice storm hit this year. We are going to be doing Gods work every Saturday, Covid never stopped us and this will not stop us. Our job is to serve others , to let those who are in a bad situation know that God is real and He loves them. God will always be the only one we answer to , for this little place we call The Simple Project is a place for all of us to share Gods love.

Hello everyone from The Simple Project. As most know during the ice storm we suffered roof damage to the house. We have prayed and hoped we could find a way to fix it and God answered prayers. Work started last week and the damaged roof was fixed , but then we ran into a snag . Our place is considered being in the Historic District. So the Group over this district has shut us down because they want to choose or agree on our color roof. The problem with that is in my opinion, is that the home behind us has 3 different colors on it and the 8 to 10 buildings around us have different colors. They are having a meeting about it in the middle of September or I was told could be 30 or 60 days . But as of now we have a beautiful blue tarp over our roof. I know God will take care of us , but I’m asking for prayers for patience as we go through this process. Let’s also pray as I know we need the rain that nothing happens that will damage the house from inside if we get rain . This little house helps so many in different ways and we will not stop because of the devil trying to find a way to hold us down . God will win , we will win because of our faith in Him. While it was another warm day at The Simple Project, that didn't keep Refuge Healing Church from pouring out God's love for everyone that was there. From words of encouragement to the meal, no one left hungry, that's for sure.

Improvements finally getting done at The Simple Project House. We are making things cleaner , more accessible, easier to reach and find things. These are projects that have been on the back burner for a while , Gods timing has given me the chance to get caught up on projects for our board members and those that volunteer. I hope everyone likes what we have done. We will always serve Gods people and He will always be first in this little ministry we call The Simple Project.

What a awesome day to serve our savior Jesus Christ. For breakfast we had Christ Church , they fed around 35 to 40 . They come prepared to serve those less fortunate with the scripture of Christ and then fill their needs. Then at noon Harvey Sweet of Harvey’s Dance Hall a Christian based place that teaches line dancing and some couples dance and a great Christian atmosphere. They came out with homemade pot pie with some homemade rolls from another friend and just blessed everyone. We serve an awesome God !!!! Fed around 80 for lunch , it was Hot but everyone got seconds and a message letting them know that it doesn’t matter your situation in life accept God as your savior broken and He will help you tear down the walls of sin and guide you through to a better tomorrow. We had a great day at The Simple Project today. It was extremely hot but First Baptist Church of Calhoun did an awesome job serving the less fortunate. We can’t thank you all enough for coming out and sharing your love and support. It’s groups like you all that keep us going. I also, want to thank Mamata Rawal from ULM VCOM for coming out today and helping with organizing the clothes room and the hygiene room. You are a true blessing and we appreciate you!!

Grace Pointe Community Outreach what a wonderful group that has committed to every 2nd Saturday of every month for breakfast . Gods people serving those less fortunate. Thank you for your commitment

Had a good Saturday at the Simple Project. The Lord provided a nice breeze to help with the heat. Cheniere Baptist Church provided a great meal, while Brother Clayton Bryan brought words of encouragement. Add to that donations of clothes, hygiene and band-aids and I'd say it was a pretty good day. Thanks again from The Simple Project, without all of these groups that volunteer there's no way we'd still be here caring for the less fortunate in our community.
