We are so thankful for local businesses like the Home Depot for the support they provide us. We are also grateful for our partnership with Walton County Schools on our Firefighter Internship through the work based learning program.

This past Friday, Walton County Fire Rescue gathered to celebrate the retirement of Captain Herb Huff. Captain Huff retires with 26 years of service to the Department. He began his career by first becoming a Volunteer Firefighter at Station # 13 on Guthrie Road south of Loganville. He then became a full time firefighter and moved up through the ranks to reach the Captains position. He was most recently the A-Shift Captain at Station # 14 in Walker Park. Herb was a hard worker, and truly a great firefighter.

In retirement, Herb and his wife Debbie plan to go on many cruises together and enjoy more time with family.

Congratulations, Captain Herb Huff, on your retirement, and we wish you the best in your next chapter!

This afternoon Walton County Fire Rescue took delivery of 2 Spartan/E-One Rescue Pumpers from FireLine, Inc. Each engine features a 1000 gallon water tank and 1500 gpm Hale Fire pump. Engine 8 will be serving the Bold Springs community out of Station # 8; and Engine 13 will be serving the South Loganville area out of Station # 13 on Guthrie Road.

Walton County Fire Rescue is deeply saddened to learn of a firefighter line of duty death in neighboring Rockdale County.
