Pictures from the “If these walls could talk” tour of the Deere-Wiman Home & Carriage House.
I highly recommend the tour. It’s offered twice a year. Group size is limited to 11 people only.
This was my first visit to the Deere Home. To be honest? I never seen this home before. I’ve never driven down 11th Ave so I didnt know it existed. I’ve only seen the Butterworth home from 7th St. I’ve also never been inside the Butterworth home.

A public investigation is available at the former Rock Island YMCA (dormitory/gym/pool/etc) in a few weeks. It’s the second YMCA built in Rock island. Grand opening was November 22, 1913. From that day until July 15, 1972, it was an affordable short term living space for men. With men who lived in the building, former YMCA members who used the facilities, parties & public events hosted on the first floor & gymnasium, spirits continue to revisit to rekindle experiences had.
I would recommend taking a day tour of building, if available. You will get a different perspective of the second thru forth floors which you will not see at night.

Two weeks until the doors of Rock Island open again…
and whatever’s waiting inside.👻

The countdown has begun.⌛

Haunted Rock Island Roadhouse Esoteric Expo 2025 photo drop.
Paragem had Room 7 open. A lot of attendees stopped in this year to see our oddities. We truly appreciate everyone for takingbthe time to soeak with us & get kisses from Cash. Many drove hours to attend the Paracon. Hope you all made it home safely.
Jessica and I were gifted a wristband to see the Warrens Occult Museum. It was absolutely unexpected and it happened so naturally, I’m still in shock how blessed we were!
My report on the Warren’s Occult Museum: If you have an interest in oddities, this traveling museum is worth your time. I wasn’t aware there was more to their museum than the Annabelle doll. They brought a number of fantastic objects, each with a short documentation or story. For a traveling museum, I was really pleased with how many objects they had to offer. Considering these objects all had to be carefully packed and driven from Connecticut and back? Bravo and thank you!
What did I sense?
Annabelle: Peaceful. Quiet. There was a unique energy surrounding the box she sat in.
The Conjuring Mirror: Amazing. Imagine looking at the surface of a mirror and you see it ride and fall, much like it is breathing. It was alive and I wanted it! 😆 If you’ve been in our house, you would have noticed we have a few mirrors on the first floor. I freaking love mirrors.
Pearls of Death: Light vibration just outside of the box. I want it.
Shrunken Head: I have ALWAYS had a fascination with shrunken heads since late grade school/junior high. No explanation. Just find them incredibly fascinating.
Amityville Key Chain: the whole table was vibrating where the frame sat.
WWI shoe and skeleton foot: sad yet intriguing. Just an overall sense of sadness.
Devil’s Sword: Can I fit this under my dress and sneak out unnoticed. Super awesome sword and pretty. Peaceful.
I noted more info for each photo.

As an owner of adopted oddities, I understand the responsibilities which come with objects with owners who continue to visit. On the most part, the owner is relieved and happy their beloved item has a safe place which they can visit. For others, it’s a trust relationship you build with time.
I often come across “haunted” objects at estate sales, resale shops, yard sales, and at Goodwill. Do I buy them all? No. I conduct a short interview: is the dead person dire to find it a good home or don’t care one way or the other. If they are respectful of my house rules and give me permission to adopt, I will buy their cherished item.
Room 7 allows me to adopt items from individuals whose personalities are … well …more challenging to work with but still offer a safe place for their beloved item.

With that said, I could easily sense the objects within the Warren’s museum are VERY well cared for. Not a single complaint from any object. Kudos to the NESPR team.

Public fascination with the Annabelle doll is intriguing. Reading the FB and Reddit comments tell me people are all over the board on where they stand. To believe or not to believe - that is the question.
I have never had an interest in the Warrens so I dont know much about them, aside from what I have heard/learned via word of mouth, a few FB videos, or from the recent mass commentary via public posts.
I plan to attend as a guest Saturday to vendor shop & ask the regulars (YMCA ghosts) what they think of the day. I have no interest to see Annabelle in person.
Maybe I’ll see some familiar faces Saturday. New faces are also welcome.

Happy National Ghost Hunting Day!
Due to COVID, I will not be at the investigation tonight at the German American Heritage Center. The GAHC investigation with the Haunted Maps Team will be a good experience for those attending. Enjoy!
I took this year will ease from investigating, focusing on skating, concerts, travel, gardening, and arts & crafts. I don’t yet know if I will make myself more available at public investigations in 2026.
It’s always an honor to translate for the dead. I always look forward to hearing stories from the other side. l

In the past 5 years, I’ve had some incredible experiences and learned a lot about myself as a Medium & from those who live on “the other side”. No investigation will ever be alike. Former homes sat on the property before the building was built. So many different men lived in the dormitory. So many men & boys attended the YMCA. Women worked in the building. Eventually, families were invited to use the YMCA for several years. Personal belongings were later stored in the former rooms when U-HAUL bought the building. Years of customers buying furniture when Dan Vinar took over the building.
It doesn’t matter if you investigate day or night. It’s active 24/7. You won’t be disappointed.

Second Haunted Rock Island Roadhouse Paracon is in the books. My ankles are tired. My right knee is angry. I’m dehydrated. As soon as my daughter comes home from work with my vegetable ramen and sweet potato rolls to go, I will soak in magnesium and add an Ametrine Apothecary bath bomb.
Looking forward to Paracon 2025!
