Rolls Royce Phantom I hood sides were finished today. Ready for final clean up and installation. The trim on the painted side was made from brass and chrome plated. The trim on the inside was made from German silver and polished. All of the rivets are polished German silver. Recreated as humanly possible as original.

Something a little different today.

Electric seat out of a 1964 Lincoln that had a dead motor. The old motor didnt have magnets, it enegized opposite coils to reverse the motor. No luck finding a used one anywhere, so I rewired it for a standard 12 volt dc motor. It worked with a test motor, so one was ordered with simular dimentions.

Definately a head scratcher...

6 years in the making with a great group of builders and friends. It was an honor.

Hemmings Motor News recently featured a three-part series about the restoration process behind our Best of Show car, the 1936 Lancia Astura Pinin Farina Cabriolet. Read part one of "The Long Road to Pebble Beach" here: https://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2016/11/21/the-long-road-to-pebble-beach-part-one/?refer=news

It is amazing and frightening what you can find under old leadwork. Wheeled out a patch to replace the fatigued metal. The section of the lip will be a seperate piece, just in case I have to shrink or stretch to fit the curve of the fender opening.

Next project in the shop. 1936 Ford 3 window coupe. Ditching the fiberglass front fenders. The steel ones need some work, but oh so much better than fiberglass. Also getting rid of the hood sides and installing factory style hood sides.

Only in Molalla...

I've spotted this car several times around town, this was the first time I could get a picture of it. Definately someone's daily driver. Thought about putting a card under the windshield wiper, but I like it as it is.

Making something out of nothing. Saved these 1930 Chevy fenders from the scrap heap for a customer's budget build.

Every project is important, I'm happy to help.

Nothing like seeing your neighbor doing a test and tune on a 900 horsepower pro trophy truck. Never a dull day at the shop!
