A few weeks ago we went to the Modesto Children’s Museum Bike and Trike event and had the best time! We were able to teach kids about agriculture and play our spin the wheel trivia game. Thanks for having us!

Last Tuesday two groups from Stanislaus County attended the Calling on the Capitol day up in Sacramento. This is an opportunity for members to meet with elected officials to advocate for farmers and ranchers and agriculture here in California.

Join us as we thank Anna for all of the hard work she has put into our organization over the last 7 years! Anna accepted a job as the Farm Employer Labor Service (FELS) General Manager and tomorrow will be her last day at SCFB. FELS is part of California Farm Bureau so don't worry, she isn't going far! We will miss her tremendously for the great work she does for our county and the wonderful teammate she has been to us here in the office. We wish her all of the best and can't wait to see the great things she will do for FELS!

This year we are partnering with Stanislaus County Libraries and MOdesto Modesto Irrigation District to bring agriculture to kids! Check out the schedule below for our Summer Library Program schedule. We will be visiting every library branch in the county to read a story about agriculture and do an activity. This is FREE to all participants and will be so much fun. We can't wait to see you there!

In this episode of Farm Bureau Friday, Bill Penney of the Turlock Irrigation District breaks down Project Nexus, a first-of-its-kind effort to install solar panels over irrigation canals.

Developed with UC Merced and state partners, the project aims to conserve water while generating renewable energy without taking farmland out of production. Early results point to reduced evaporation, minimal operational impact, and fewer issues with aquatic vegetation.
