This approach of in-home visitation and on-site parenting education is designed to meet both the short and long term needs of the family and is a powerful combination in reducing the risk of child abuse, child neglect and family violence. The target population is the high-risk parent, with a focus on first time pregnancies and parenting teens. The Center has a well-established base of collaborative partners, which includes other community-based organizations that provide a source of referrals. Services are confidential and free of charge and do not exclude anyone because of race, color, national origin, political affiliation, religion, marital status, sex, handicap, or sexual orientation. The Center receives the major portion of its funding from community sources such as grants, foundations, local businesses, service clubs, fund-raising events, private individuals and government contracts.
