I had a great opportunity to talk with Denise Gustavson Prescott, the Editorial Director at Alliance Media Brands. Her podcast gives women in the print industry an opportunity to share our experiences. The print industry encompasses a diverse range of services. My experience is primarily in the signage and design industry, but it also delves into commercial printing, packaging, and industries that involve the creation of visual materials.

The print industry offers significant opportunities for women in design, production, sales, and leadership. While it's traditionally a male-dominated field, there has been a lot more advocacy and mentorship to support women interested in a career in the print industry.

From my experience over the last 30+ years, this is an excellent industry for women to step into. My advice: research the industry and get educated on the areas that interest you most, then start applying. From my experience in the sign industry, there are not enough skilled production and wrap installers to meet the needs of hiring companies.
