Meet Bro. Contrell Jolly, a Fall 2017 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Theta Delta Chapter.

Bro. Jolly is an optimistic problem solver dedicated to leading himself with purpose while building a career that positively impacts his family and community.

He graduated from the University of South Alabama in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

After graduation, he spent several years as an electrical engineer at AM/NS Calvert. He currently serves as a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer at Hargrove Engineers & Constructors.

Throughout his time in Alpha, he has served as Chapter Secretary, Community Service Chair, Undergraduate Adviser, and Financial Secretary.

Beyond his professional career, Bro. Jolly is committed to mentorship and leadership development through his service with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Young Professionals of Mobile. His dedication to service reflects his commitment to strengthening both his profession and his community.

The Beta Omicron Lambda Chapter will be celebrating 87 years of leadership, service, and unyielding brotherly love. You are cordially invited to join us for our 87th Charter Day "Golden Hour" Celebration on the Lawn of the House (606 St. Francis Street).

Expect an unforgettable summer evening filled with live music, stellar entertainment, and that unmatched Alpha atmosphere under the golden hour sky. It’s the perfect setting to relax, reconnect, and reminisce with the brothers.

Brother Spotlight 🤙🏾

Meet Bro. Broderick Morrissette, a Fall 2019 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Beta Omicron Lambda Chapter.

He is a passionate higher education professional committed to building community, creating opportunities, and helping students thrive at the University of South Alabama.

He is a Prichard, AL native, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Alabama.

As Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives in the Office of Community Engagement at the University of South Alabama, Broderick leads collaborative programs focused on student success, retention, leadership development, and first-generation student support while providing project management and assisting in the development of strategic partnerships for the office.

He also developed the office’s Campus to Career Scholarship Initiative and partnered with Chick-fil-A Emerging Talent to launch the Jag Readiness Program, helping students strengthen career readiness skills and connect with campus resources.

His recent honors include the 2026 Student Organization Advisor of the Year Award, the 2026 Barbara Shirvanian Advisor of the Year Award, and Leadership South Class of 2026. He also holds certifications in Mental Health First Aid and Gallup Strengths Coaching.

Broderick continues to serve through Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as Corresponding Secretary for the Beta Omicron Lambda Chapter, Primary Advisor for the Theta Delta Chapter, member of the IMDP Management Team, and Public Relations Committee member.

Through service, mentorship, and leadership, he remains dedicated to uplifting students and the community while making an impact wherever he serves.
