At AL Trans Service we are a dealer for Allison Transmissions. Allison is the world’s foremost manufacturer of medium and heavy-duty automatic transmissions. Start in our truck shop and learn to remove and replace transmissions. We will provide you access to the Allison E-learn system where you can take on-line classes and tests to help advance your knowledge and improve your abilities. Use Allison’s E-learn to lay down a base knowledge and we will provide hands on opportunities working with skilled technicians in our shop. If you complete the Allison E-learn curriculum and perform well in the shop we will send you to Allison “Hands-On” training to learn Maintenance and Overhaul for the Allison 1K, 2K, 3K and 4K series transmissions. What you make of this position, this opportunity, is only limited by your willingness to learn and advance your skillset.
Main responsibilities:
 Making sure work is done safely, done correctly and that our customers will be happy with the service performed.
 Teaming up with your manager and our training staff to maximize your potential.
 Show a willingness to work. Display punctuality. Perform in a way where you feel ready to be called on when an opportunity to advance is presented.
General requirements:
 High school diploma or general education degree is required. Vocational or technical certifications are preferred.
 Valid driver’s license is required. Also, a commercial driver’s license must be obtained within 6 months.
 Basic computer skills are required. You will be using a laptop to start the diagnostic process.
 An ability to solve problems.
 Ability to show up on-time and work the required schedule.
 Complete the employment application, pass a drug test and submit to background screening.
This position requires physical exertion such as:
 Long periods of standing.
 Recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities.
 Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds assisted or unassisted.
The pay is based on your current skill level. The more you are capable of the better the pay.

It is 12:25 on Christmas Eve and every technician is working on one truck. Every technician was scheduled to go home at noon and they are all staying and working on one truck together because if we don't finish it there will be a man in a hotel room on Christmas without a way of going. I am very proud of this crew who are taking on this job when they don't have to and sticking it out together!
