Last season at Georgia, Jalen Carter found out that his walk-on teammate Weston Wallace wasn’t able to receive all of the meals that scholarship players received. Upset by this, Jalen bought Wallace lunch every single day out of his own scholarship money.

So for the 5th time I participated in the Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer Golf Tourney at The Georgia Club in Stathum, GA. Quite an honor to participate and especially this year following my wife’s diagnosis 1 year ago. She is such a warrior, working hard at the hospital, being a wonderful wife, daughter and Mom. She continues to do well with God’s blessing through the past year. As I told Teresa Abbott for whom this tournament was organized around ( herself a Stage III survivor), you never know whats around the corner. So with that I will continue to support this cause and advocate for prevention and treatment. As an aside, Teresa and Jay Abbott lost their Son, Chris this year to complications from liver surgery. He played football for The Dawgs and was the one who rallied the troops to get behind this for his Mom.

UGA Alumni Club of Mobile,

I want to announce that I am stepping aside as president so that Garrett Williamson, Mark Colicchio and Jim Whatley can lead the group moving forward. I will stay on as an officer so that I can make the transition smooth and to help with anything the new leadership may need.

I enjoyed leading the group for the past several years but a recent new business venture has taken up almost all of my free time so I think it is a good time to step aside. Garrett, Mark and Jim will do a great job and will bring new energy to the club.

GO DAWGS,

Brant Richerson
