Hey everyone! We're kicking off a brand-new weekly series: our Longtimer Spotlight! 🌟

While every animal in our care is special, some of our wonderful rescue friends have been waiting a little longer than usual to find their forever homes. Every week, we’re shining an extra bright light on one of these patient souls to help them find the loving family they’ve been dreaming of.

Meet Ronny! 🎩✨

First up in our spotlight is Ronny, a dapper 5-month-old tuxedo boy who has been with us since he was just a tiny 2.5-week-old baby alongside his mom, brother, and sister.

Ronny is a kitten who does everything with 100% passion:

🧸 He plays hard: Toy mice and feather wands don't stand a chance!

💤 He cuddles hard: Once playtime is over, he is all about pure, purring affection.

Because he thrives on companionship, Ronny would do best in a home with at least one other feline friend—or even better, consider adopting him alongside his brother, Tommy, for double the love! He’s been waiting practically his whole life for a forever family and can't wait to finally meet them.

There’s a woman named Tammy—we all know it’s true,
She somehow gets everything done she sets out to do.
Treasurer, chauffeur, kitten nurse too—
We’re still not convinced she isn’t two.

Dirty rescue van? Give her a minute.
She’ll have it so clean you could practically live in it.
Scrubbed, shined, disinfected with care—
Tammy’s magic is everywhere.

Tiny sick kittens? She’s already there,
With bottles, meds, and so much care.
So many lives are brighter today,
Because Tammy loved them all the way.

Then she’s off on transport, miles to go,
Laughing and chatting the whole way through.
She makes long drives feel light and fun—
Just another thing Tammy gets done.

And photos? That’s where she shines the most—
“Tammy Pictures” are what we boast.
Every pet looks like a star,
Even the grumpy ones—yes, even those are.

She’s funny, kind, thoughtful, and bright,
Keeps everything spotless, running just right.
Dust doesn’t dare stick around—
Tammy’s standards are world-renowned.

So here’s to Tammy, one of a kind,
With the biggest heart and quickest mind.
Meows and Mutts wouldn’t be the same—
We’re so glad you answered the call to this game.

There once was a rescuer named Kristy, you see,
Who has absolutely no idea what a day off should be! 😂

She showed up one night with a sparkle and grin,"Let's start a rescue!" ...and that's where it'd begin.

But her rescue story started years before that night,
Since Hurricane Katrina, she's been making things right. ❤️
If there's a dog in trouble or a kitten alone,
Somehow, Kristy's the very first one to know.

📱 Don't be surprised if your phone starts to ring
While you're standing in the checkout buying just one thing.

"There's a puppy at Tractor Supply!" 🐶"Can you go? We need you!"

Or...

🍼 "This tiny kitten needs a bottle right now!"
Before you can answer, you're already asking, "Where and how?" 😂

She has a gift for recruiting—it's really first-rate.
You leave for some groceries... and come home three hours late! 🤣

🔑 Lost keys? Eh... they'll turn up someday.
🚐 Rescue van needs cleaning? That can wait anyway.

But a puppy in danger or kittens so small? 🐾❤️Drop everything... because Kristy's on the call!

She'll drive through the day and well into the night,
Just to make one more little life turn out right. 🚐💨

Spays and neuters, transports galore,
Then somehow she always finds room for one more!

She's rescued more dogs and cats than anyone we know,
And somehow keeps finding more places to go.

She's the backbone of Meows and Mutts through thick and thin,
Always saying, "I think we can squeeze one more in!" 😂

And when it comes to going above and beyond, she truly sets the bar—she even shaved her head to raise money so she could rescue even more animals. ❤️🐾

So today we have just one birthday request:

🎂 Eat the cake.
🎁 Open the gifts.
😂 Laugh until your cheeks hurt.
❤️ Let everyone else save the world... at least until tomorrow.

(Although... if someone texts you a puppy picture, we all know this birthday party is officially over! 🤣🐶)

Happy Birthday to one of the hardest-working animal rescuers we know. Thank you for every mile you've driven, every bottle baby you have found a place for, every transport you've made, every life you've saved, and every volunteer you've lovingly recruited while they were just trying to live their lives. ❤️🐾

We love you, we appreciate you, and Meows and Mutts simply wouldn't be the same without you.
