Scareware is a common occurrence when browsing the internet or checking your e-mail.

when facing scareware, they often claim to be companies like Microsoft or Apple and will use that to scare you, then attempt to steal your information. If you see these messages, its best to ignore them and close the windows/shutdown your computer. if there is any concern for your computers security, contact Microsoft or Apple support directly, or contact a trusted local company for aid.

Remember to be skeptical, your computer is secure unless you invite a scammer into it.

Always be suspicious of claims you see online, especially those claiming something is wrong with your computer with the false face of Microsoft of Apple or any of your antivirus software. (Mcaffy, Norton, etc).
