Simple Finesse

Our Kurvan Project: Excelsior Loft Studio has been named a finalist in the 2026 Midwest Design Awards, earning recognition among more than 1,000 entries from across the Midwest.

Through thoughtful spatial planning, intentional material selections, and a refined balance of form and function, this project reflects our belief that exceptional design is found not only in what you see, but in how a space is thoughtfully conceived and experienced.

First, second, and third-place winners will be revealed live at the Awards Gala on Thursday, Dec. 10, and featured in the Midwest Design Spring 2027 issue.

Stay tuned as we take you behind the scene of the celebration!!

LAUNCHING THIS SPRING: Architecturally designed homes, created by Simple Finesse.

An architecturally designed home is more than a beautiful floorplan.

It is a home where architecture, interiors, materials, light, proportion, movement, and everyday life have been considered as one experience.

Unlike a standard builder home, where plans are often designed around efficiency, repetition, and construction cost, a Finesse Home begins with a different question:

How should this home live?

We consider how you arrive. How you move through the home. Where people naturally gather. Where you find quiet. How light enters a room. How spaces connect. How materials transition. And how the home can continue to serve you as life changes.

Because Simple Finesse brings architecture, interior design, and construction together under one roof, we can think about the home from concept through construction, not simply how it looks on paper, but how it will ultimately feel, function, and be built.

The result is a home with intention behind it.

Not more rooms for the sake of square footage.

Not more finishes for the sake of luxury.

Better design. Better flow. Better living.

That is what makes a Finesse Home different.

Stay tuned for the reveal!

When investing in your dream home, it is essential to distinguish between a standard builder-grade house and an architecturally designed residence.

A common misconception in luxury real estate is that architectural homes are inherently more expensive; in reality, good design optimizes your investment by prioritizing spatial efficiency and material longevity over raw square footage.

We are meeting our client today to review and discuss how to maximize flow and functionality!

We’re going to say something that isn’t often said out loud. Minnesota’s luxury design community is incredibly talented but it isn’t yet as diverse as the communities it serves.

As the Minnesota Fall Artisan Home Tour gets underway next week, we’ve been thinking about what it means to build a presence in a market where relationships and referrals carry significant weight.

For firms like ours, that means being intentional about how we build relationships, find opportunities, and create work that speaks for itself. We know what we’re building. We know the caliber of work we’re capable of. And we know where we’re headed.

One day, we intend to see a Simple Finesse home on that Artisan Home tour. Not as an exception but as part of the landscape.

Because luxury design is richer when more perspectives are represented and we believe there is room for more voices shaping what exceptional design looks and feels like in Minnesota.

Swipe through. This is a conversation we believe is worth having.

The dining room is more than a room. It is designing spaces that hold the moments that matter.

It’s where meals are shared, laughter lingers, stories are told, and memories are made.

As the leaves turn and the holidays draw near, there’s something special about gathering around a table with the people you love. The food may change, the seasons may pass, but these are the moments that become part of a family’s story.

Because years from now, you may not remember exactly what was served…but you’ll remember who was sitting around the table.

BENEFIT OF WORKING WITH A DESIGN + BUILT:

The design + build industry has been operating the same way for far too long prioritizing speed over intention.

Too often, architecture, interior design, and construction are treated as separate pieces. The architect designs it. The interior designer finishes it. The builder figures out how to build it.

The result? Homes that can feel predictable, disconnected, or builder-grade.

We believe there’s a better way.

At Simple Finesse, architecture, interior design, and construction live under one roof. From the first sketch to the final finish, our team works together to create one cohesive vision and then bring it to life.

Because the team who imagines your space is also responsible for delivering it, the vision stays intact from concept through construction. Details are thoughtfully carried through, design decisions are coordinated with the realities of construction, and budgets are considered throughout the process. Communication is streamlined, timelines are better coordinated, and every detail is held to the same standard of design and craftsmanship.

We’re not designing a home and handing it off.

We’re designing it, refining it, and building it, end to end.

One vision. One team. From concept to completion.

Let’s clear up a few misconceptions about what designers and architects actually do.

Beautiful spaces don’t happen by simply choosing pretty finishes or saving the right images on Pinterest. The real work happens behind the scenes, in the planning, problem-solving, detailing, coordination, and hundreds of decisions that come together to create a home that feels effortless.

From “I can just buy a plan online” to “I already know what I want,” these are some of the most common things we hear and why professional design is about so much more than selecting finishes.
