Did you know tomorrow 200+ rides across the world are riding in memory of Alex Pretti? All started by our local bike shop Angry Catfish Bicycle Shop and Coffee Bar. See you there!
With our friends from Joyful Riders Club , a few of our Twin Cities staff members will be doing a Ride-to-the-Ride from Brackett Park to Washburn Fair Oaks Park.
Meet us at Brackett starting at about noon, we're planning to bring some pastries from a local immigrant owned bakery, as well as coffee.
At 12:30 we'll ride together to the main ride event.
Alex was one of us, could’ve been any of us, so as we mourn, all of us can come together in unity to remember Alex for what he was. A kind and caring soul put on this earth to be the light for others.
Although his light has been extinguished by this violent regime, it hasn’t been lost. If anything, those sparks fell and ignited something in us that’s been hiding all along. We are stronger together, and they can’t take us all.
We hope to you will be joining us in this international solidarity ride.

Please consider joining us and hundreds of other organizations around the metro, around the state, and around the country in riding in memory of Alex Pretti.
Alex was a valued member of his local biking community and by all accounts the kind of friend and neighbor we should all aspire to be.
If you are in the metro, the ride is rolling out from Washburn Fair Oaks Park at 1:30 on Saturday 1/31.
Community note from the organizer:
Over 11 years this ride has grown from 10 riders to 175 through partner outreach, event logistics, creative marketing, volunteer coordination, and engagement tracking. A major focus of this work is producing social media promo assets and campaigns that drive rider participation and partner engagement. This aligns with paid roles in community marketing and event operations.
I am exploring opportunities aligned with this type of program building.
If you know organizations that hire for community marketing, event operations, or experiential programs, please DM the page with referrals or company names.

That’s a wrap for this year.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and turned the ride into a full day of energy, chaos, and great memories. This only works because of the people who ride, and you delivered.
This video is just a slice, but a wild highlight was being interviewed by three news outlets. Still surreal. Shout-out to Buddy the Elf for the legendary zigizagi, and to Vitali for capturing it all.
Add next year to your calendar now.
See you Saturday, December 5, 2026. 🎅🚲🍻

Watch this 4 minute documentary about our rampage! The best part might be the interview with Buddy the Elf (Matt Menier). Huge credit to the U of M journalism student Grace Praxmarer who captured the joy so well. 🎅🚲🍻
