HARD ROCK/METAL GUITARISTS, I need your help!
I'm designing one of my upcoming guitar models as a hard rock/metal guitar and I would love to know what some of the features you have on your must have/wish list.
Some examples: Bridge type, pickups and controls, number of strings, stain color, scale length, fretwire size/style, number of frets, weight, inlay, preferences on woods, etc. etc.

I have many a fond memory with this guitar. Late night rehearsals, songwriting sessions, shows across the midwest... all immersed in music with friends. Thanks Marc for getting her cleaned up for me!

Took a break for some "self care" today cleaning up the neck and frets on my beloved 1997 PRS Swamp Ash Special. Leveled the frets, crowned, polished, cleaned the grime off the fingerboard and set up truss rod and action.
Not a super great angle here but the frets came out to a nice mirror finish and play like butter.
I've been feeling nostalgic lately and am fortunate to have unearthed a bunch of video I didn't know existed. So here for your viewing pleasure is Ground Zero Nightclub Part 1. Random shenanigans on the way to our April 2012 show.

When I was a teenager, I wanted to be a singer. I had zero experience singing live in front of anyone and was scared to get started. My baton coach Carolyn at Sterling Silver Studio convinced me to do a vocal number at a her recital and her super spunky and talented little brother Shane Nelson accompanied me on the guitar. At 8 years old, he helped me take the leap I needed to get started. Here for your viewing pleasure, is a grainy 90s video with all the awkwardness you might expect.
Fast forward to today, Shane is seriously one of the most talented musicians I have ever met or had the pleasure to listen to. His songwriting, voice and skill on the guitar is superb. On top of that he is kind - always there with a smile and raising the energy of the room. He just performed some of his new songs live on Fox21 (link below). Go check it out and give Shane a listen. Your soul will thank me.

Being in a band is difficult. As an adult, there are so many obligations to juggle. Good bands require lots of practice and live performances keep you up late and away from your family. Even the longest standing members of Beautiful Trigger oscillated toward and away from the band as we tried to figure out how to make everything fit in with our lives. In 2008, I performed a "last" show with the band. In reality, the band was still in its early stages at this time, but it was clear that something needed to change to bring us into the future. After a pause, we came back stronger than before. The music is never far from my heart nor are all the incredible musicians with whom I have shared the stage.
